What's even more stupid is that Sony sells PS3s as a gaming console. Imagine that.

Here, let me write the things that poster has written(I know it can be difficult for some people to read):

Now only $299 MSRP*

Blu-Ray

DVDs

Internet Browser

Built-in wifi

Free Online Gaming

Trophies

Built in Hard Drive

Video Chat

Hmm.....

Sony should change that ad and add...

Dreamcast emulator

Snes Emulator

Genesis emulator

Nintendo Ds emulator

Homebrew Games

Linix

Around the Network

Sony is wasting their money. They don't have a case and they'd be better served to sue the money they are giving away to lawyers on more software for PS3 and PSP. While they are at it, they should fire the idiot that thought removing Other OS from the PS3 was a good idea. He/she opened a can of worms that is going to bite Sony in the ass for as long as the PS3 is being sold.

It still trumps all the positives. Whether they fix it or not. I used to play PC but stopped because of that BS. Why should the devs have to fix this? Why should this even be a problem? Ill tell you why, Its because of people who  think "oh, this is my system, i should be able to do what i want". Because of people like you, who support this logic.

People like me?

At least I don't support the companies that care nothing of me and allow news like this to get me all bent out of shape.

All of this blame is not on me, it is on SONY and SONY alone. The scene was content with homebrew freedom on Linux and they took it away, prompting the scene to have a reason to open up the PS3.

Yeah you can go on about George Hotz and his Linux hack, but as of today that hack amounted to NOTHING, because it was in fact NOTHING.

People like you are sitting here supporting that if SONY ever gets scared about something it is alright if they just start taking shit away, even if that fear amounts to nothing.

I don't know about you, but I fight on the side of the consumer.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Got a retro room? Post it here!

LOL!

Let me rephrase that.

"Has anyone found anything yet that software piracy killed yet?"

Hmm.....

The sad part is I'm no longer sure if you're merely being disingenuous because you know you're wrong and don't want to admit it, if you've mentally blocked out the context of the campaign to support your point in your own head, or if you truly, honestly don't get why you're wrong...  For your sake, I hope it's not the latter!

Oh puh lease

Why am I wrong? Because some random person decides to use his PS3 for linux? To play PS2 games?

To play SNES games?

Right.

Everything is just implied in the sense of marketing. PS3 was NEVER marketed as a linux machine. It was however marketed as a gaming machine.

So because only a small minority used Linux they do not matter?

It is also a small minority that is complaining about the PS3 being hacked, so I guess you matter just as much as those LInux users did.

That isn't the point though. The point is that so many here are obviously oblivious to what the homebrew scene really is and it is quite sad.

They are people just like you or me, only their passion reaches out to more than just gaming but also making the absolute most of their purchased products and I don't see the real issue with that.

You don't want the most from the things you buy or do you only want what you are told you can have?

Who said i was supporting SONY? I am not supporting ANYONE. And it sounds like you are supporting a community that and i quote " that care nothing of *you*". The blame is on Hotz and anyone involved in hacking the PS3. I mean really, why did every other console get hacked? Are you going to say "because of the ummmm ummm...."

There is nothing to fight, this would have happened even if linux had stayed on the console. Stop kidding yourself by saying "Its all Sony's fought!".

o btw.... *downloads relevant files from geohot to perform hack* ... cause you know.. for.. research.. >_>
