Ugh.  This is the reason I don't particularly like non-physical formats.  I know people got their money back, but it is crazy that it can be taken away like that.

It won't actually be deleted if you bought it already, you just can't re-download it if you decide to delete it.

The sentence in the first post about people getting their money back threw me off.

So those people get to keep the game and get their money back?

Yup, although they can never download it again.  And of course no one else can buy it now either.

I find it weird people are blaming Capcom for taking it down. My bet is Nintendo themselves had it taken down to boost sales of the arcade version. If they are refunding everyones money then their must not be a huge consumer base. I don't particularily mind as I myself never purchased it on VC.

But I am concerned by the fact that Nintendo is actually pulling titles, as someone else said whether they refund you or not you can never redownload it. Oh well, but that is why I prefer the physical copy in my hands. In the end this won't hurt VC sales much and it doesn't effect my purchasing and purchases so doesn't really matter much to me.

According to folks on the Nintendolife forums, the NES version of Ghosts 'n Goblins has deliberately been pulled from the Virtual Console.  People who purchased it will get their points back, but no new people can buy it.  No reason has been given.

As far as I know, the only other VC game that's been pulled was Last Ninja 3, and that was motivated by a glitch that made it impossible to beat the game.  Anyone have any ideas why Capcom would do this?  Did this game also have a similar glitch?

The game is virtually impossible to beat as it is.  That is, unless you have a LOT of time and even more patience.

Man, don't post him here.  It just brings down the quality of the site.  He couldn't even get through 5 secs of his video without making a gammar mistake.

How can you find it weird when all you have is "I bet"? Try some evidence before you think we are weird for thinking another thing with the same lack of proof either way.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Hey, I thought it was an amusing and emotionally accurate evaluation of the game. Everythng else be damned!

strange, because I don't think the game had any major glitches, unlike Last Ninja 3

It was unbeatable, it drove me nuts, it made me bleed money on arcade machines, but I loved it more than DK! Luckily, when I got it on the ZX Spectrum, bleeding money was replaced by getting mad trying having those damn audio cassettes work.    God bless successive home and personal computers for having ditched such an ureliable and slow mass memory.

Why does he keep saying "When you find X, X is harder than the next"...

Doesn't he mean it is harder than the last? Harder than the next means its getting easier.. thats weird.

I've beaten Ghosts N Goblins and did not notice any major glitches, so I don't see the reason for removing it from VC. The NES version of the game is even supposed to be slightly easier than the arcade version. That's what some people have said anyway.
