It was unbeatable, it drove me nuts, it made me bleed money on arcade machines, but I loved it more than DK! Luckily, when I got it on the ZX Spectrum, bleeding money was replaced by getting mad trying having those damn audio cassettes work. 
God bless successive home and personal computers for having ditched such an ureliable and slow mass memory.
