Forums - Gaming - Rockstar: L.A. Noire is not a sandbox game

I never really understood why people thought it was going to be a sandbox game, I guess it's because idots just see the rockstar name on it and think it must be like GTA, everything I have heard about this game makes it sound like an adventure game with branching plot more like Heavy Rain than GTA.

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

I think the others are right, its open world but there will probably not be that much to do in the world.  you will probably just be moving through the story in this one.

Well that sucks, I don't want this game anymore :(

Does every game have to be like GTA??

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

sounds fine to me.

When did this game stop being a PS3 exclusive?

Around the Network

I knew it wouldn't be a sandbox game because technically it isn't made by a Rockstar studio so I assumed it'd be not a sandbox right away.

I am really looking forward to this, I like story driven games like true crime, they are not exactly sandbox but they are open.

side note about max payne 3:lots of people think its gona suck cause rockstar changed too much....have faith people..when have rockstar ever made a bad game? it will be good

I though Midnight Club LA was pretty mediocre compared to previous Midnight CLubs.

I'm still hoping they give us a proper Midnight Club this gen

Well Midnight Club was made by R* San Diego, who are now working on Red Dead, which is probably just going to absorb the MC team

and also, one bad game made by Rockstar was Manhunt 2, but other than that, they have been pretty briliant

More on topic, I don't care. GTA IV kind of went half way towards this, but I think it is better if GTA V goes back to being a proper sandbox, and LA Noire is the more story driven game
