Hold it. He talks about Move and Kinect without downplaying them!? Oh Reggie...

*disappointed*

He does slightly downplay MOVE by saying the software is "all the same"

Other than that...no fireworks

Apparently he hasn't looked at most of the Wiis library.

The wii library is HUGE and there is a lot of variety...not sure what you are talking bout here

To compare MOVE library to wii library is asinine

Reggie is a gentleman and a scholar

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

He's never played heavy rain apparently...

Wii has way too much shovelware for him to say that move games are all the same, although it is true that Move game as of now don't have much variety, same for Kinect. Even though the wii has some really awesome and unique games, they sadly end up selling like crap (NMH, Red Steel 2, Mad World, etc.) For gamers, I really hope that the 3 come out with their own variety of awesome games that define each one and to avoid that generic crapfest.

Hey doesn't say they are all the same, he says "I think it hards to identify their best content, they are all about the same", implying the quality is the same, not the content.

Reggie's above insulting the competition now?

So that's how it is

Glad to see people can talk about the competition in a sane way! And I do not think he meant all the move games were the same style, rather that he could not pick out one that stood out from the rest like dance central does for kinect.

"I think Dance Central is, by far, the best Kinect game,"

Reggie still has Donkey Kong genes within him!

That's not really a Move game, even though it was meant for motion controls initially.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

His quote mentioned identifying the best Move content. IMO that includes Heavy Rain.

It doesn't have the the labels for being a Move game. Opinions don't change that fact.

And calling it the best is dubious. Even its merits as a game aside (since that's a whole other argument), it's just a bunch of arbitrary motions in quick time event form. That isn't really much of the kind of motion control gaming that people flocked to.
