Actually David Jaffe wanted a ending related to other gods, egiptians, mayans, norse gods fighting over the world after Kratos destroyed Olympus.

I think that would be a very cool idea, Kratos as the only "Hope" for mankind to live free of the gods.

I think its over for Kratos, but i think part of the point of Ghost of Sparta and some of the hints in GOW3 was to introduce Demos. i think they will do a completely new IP next (maybe Heavenly Sword 2) then they will come back and start a new series of games with Demos, and continue to use the GOW IP.
