Her opponent ran the below add during the campaign. While not related to the shooting, hopefully in the future people will NOT associate shooting a gun with removing someone from office.

Because the shooter's political ideals have virtually nothing to do with the Republicans or the Tea party ... and if you can blame the shooting on these parties, you can blame any arbitrary shooting on the Democrats |
So this shooting wasn't ideologically motivated at all? One can’t simply draw a straight line from a political demagoguery to seemingly random acts of violence, just as how the member of this site hate the stupid shit Jack Thompson spews, but there is a level of culpability when political/ideological discourse strays from rational discussion and debate to calls for violence and incivility. Evidently, we as a nation feel so, since we are arresting or seeking the arrest of Islamic leaders who promote such dialogue. As for the Ft. Hood shooter, he far and away resembles the Tea Party rather than Moveon.org, imho.

It's amazing how the rats will scurry, now that this has happened...as if we should be surprised that lighting a match in a gas filled room caused an explosion.

Somehow, I don't remember a lot of Tea Partiers shouting Allah Ackbar during their rallies...
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I have to wonder how exactly your drawing such a comparison is not an example of incivility you supposedly deplore. Are you inured to the ridiculousness of it because Kos runs around screaming, "American Taliban! American Taliban!"?
It's funny how the guy who tried to shoot up the Florida school board leaves an extensive list of links to left wing sites at the bottom of his suicide note, and very little was made of it in the media. But when a Communist Manifesto-loving Anti-Flag fan shoots a bunch of people, it's CLEARLY Sarah Palin's fault.

Scurry from what? Something that had nothing whatsoever to do with the shooting?
ZOMG! Kos called for a BULLSEYE to be drawn on Gabrielle Giffords and used eliminationist rhetoric against the Blue Dogs! Two and a half years later, she's shot in the head! Culpability confirmed!
As for motive, I think we need to wait to see if they find this other "person of interest". From the rantings of the shooters online stuff, he was clearly an unstable individual. It's possible he was being manipulated by this other person.

And how can you be sure that this is not political at all? You can't, so to claim that it has nothing whatsoever to do with the shooting is just as irresponsible as those claiming it is directly responsible.

You're absolutely right. I apologize for my presumptuousness. I should never have said that it wasn't related to the shooting.
Oh, wait. That was you.
