I might be late to the party but reading IGN's article states that the Tomb Raider HD collection will not be the first 3 games but will be Anniversary, Legend and Underworld. Alot of people were pissed, they thought that they were getting the originals. I think these people are insane.

THe PS1 TRs have not aged well at all. Its not about the graphics or level design, but the controls make the game almost unplayable now, especially after playing the silky-smooth Uncharted series. I wonder why people thought they would go throught the trouble of remaking 3 whole games. Its not like they could have made those PS1 visuals HD. It would have look like blocky, glossy crap. THen they would have to change up the entire control scheme probably use the Legend/Anniversary one. With that kind of work they might as well make a new Tomb Raider (which they are and is probably another reason why they could not remake these 3 games)

Anniversary and Legend are great games. I still have my PS2 copy (I was considering getting the Wii  also version, but the reviews kept me away) but I never completed it. I heard great things about Legend but never got around to playing it, same for Underworld, although it was not that well received. So 2/3s of this stuff is new to me.

Anyway I dont know about you guys but I am pumped for this and Sony I dont know whose ass your kissing but you need to stop there is enough crap coming on your big ass grill machine that could keep most of us occupied for a while. At this rate I might sell my other gaming machines just to have more time for PS3

I will probably get it after it becomes cheaper. I still wish i had gotten the GOW collection for 10$

i will get them when it comes out, legend and anniversary are both very good games. beat them on the 360, so it will be cool to play them and beat them on the ps3 with trophies too boot.  :)  underworld is also a good game but i already beat the ps3 version of the game.

I thought all of those games were already on the PS3.

Now I'll never see Lara Croft's boobs when they where in their prime in HD.... :(

Well PS2 got all 3. Not sure how they held up in comparison to the 360.

Anybody that wants the first three can download them from the psn right now.  Why anybody would do that is beyond me.  I own them and they sucked back then, too.  I absolutely adore the new versions that will be included in this trilogy, though.  Legend is my favorite of the three.

It wasn't all bad, at least the old games didn't screw you up when the camera decides to suddenly swing around inverting the directions. There should be an option to have player centric controls again instead of camera based. It gets especially confusing when the camera is at a fancy angle above or below you. The analog stick is 2D yet I need to go at a 45 degree downwards angle based on the camera position...

The old ones were designed for keyboard controls, counting out steps and precise aiming. It was a lot more challenging and rewarding to figure out the correct route. More of a puzzle game then action adventure. If they ever do a remake then please leave the original control scheme intact, but add a rewind feature instead of save/load. Using the new controls would ruin the original level design, which is probably why aniversary was a complete overhaul.

All three of those are already available on the 360.
