It wasn't all bad, at least the old games didn't screw you up when the camera decides to suddenly swing around inverting the directions. There should be an option to have player centric controls again instead of camera based. It gets especially confusing when the camera is at a fancy angle above or below you. The analog stick is 2D yet I need to go at a 45 degree downwards angle based on the camera position...

The old ones were designed for keyboard controls, counting out steps and precise aiming. It was a lot more challenging and rewarding to figure out the correct route. More of a puzzle game then action adventure. If they ever do a remake then please leave the original control scheme intact, but add a rewind feature instead of save/load. Using the new controls would ruin the original level design, which is probably why aniversary was a complete overhaul.
