won't he get at least some cash?

Probably varies from state to state, case to case.

A man in Chicago got a record of $21 million for spending 11 years in prision.

Did you not read the article?

Under Texas compensation laws for the wrongly imprisoned, Dupree is eligible for $80,000 for each year he was behind bars, plus a lifetime annuity. He could receive $2.4 million in a lump sum that is not subject to federal income tax.

Read this story earlier today. I'm not even surprised that he was wrongly convicted. The U.S. has the highest rate of imprisoned citizens in the world and yet, we're far from the safest country in terms of crimes committed. Our legal system is awesome.....

I am the Playstation Avenger.

You do all realize that 30 years ago was the 80's.... Its 2011 now :p

You do realize it states 1979, right.

Hmmm waste 30 years of my life for 2.4 million...

damn, though he'll get some money, nothing values spending 30 years in jail  as an innocent man. If i were him i would visit every member for the jury and prosecutors(if they're alive) and kick them in the balls
