I'd make a 2D Metroid in the vein of Super Metroid with the primary focus actually on Metroids and exploration, instead of Phazon or Samus' feelings etc. And if Samus had to be replaced as the protagonist to avoid making the plot too convoluted, I wouldn't mind.

Either that, or a new 2D Mega Man in the vein of Mega Man 3. What I mean by this, is to not make the robot masters and their stages element-based, (and hence boring and cliché) like Magma Man or Chill Man, but instead make them innovative and unclassifiable as yet another bloody fire stage or ice stage. (Like Snake Man or Shadow Man)

Oh, and why have just 8 robot masters per game? If I were in charge, I'd throw in like fifty of 'em. And if the designers ran out of ideas, they could just reuse some of the older RM's, redesign their levels and movement patterns, and remix their music. (like this:)

I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

How would you design said 2D metroid to make it in the same vein as Super Metroid? Would you include any evolutions to the gameplay that you deem appropriate, or would it be the same gameplay with new levels?

I LOVE ICELAND!

sonic controls on ipod/phone/pad would be like scrolling a page, jumping would swipe down option to invert either controls. add unlockable equipments like a second life beyond the ring life, a teleport/warp skill when sonic reaches certain speed probably one of the last unlocks one use per stage, ring magnet.

What I want from a game.

Gameplay > Story > Content > Graphics

Visual Style > Graphics

Smooth Camera, Intuitive Controls

Friction! When everything feels right!

The latter, I guess. There's really not much that needs to be changed about Super Metroid's gameplay skeleton, imo.

And yes, I think your Sonic game would be worth playing.

I see, the 2D metroid gameplay is close to perfect, so it seems like a good decision to be conservative.

Sakamoto is a good producer, he's worked on plenty of good games as part of the staff. Giving him creative control with no oversight was a mistake though.

I do have a dilemma here. Malstrom would say that a Metroid I like game would sell the most, while I actually like Metroid Prime 1 and 2 the most. So, both? A 2D game for the 3DS and a Metroid Prime 4 in the vein of 1 and 2 for the Wii. Though I accept the latter wouldn't sell well.

With the Zelda thing though, what I described is a Zelda I would want to play. I've bought all of the 3D Zeldas and finished none. Only Zelda I've finished is Zelda I.

Unlike Nintendo, I do distinguish between what would sell and what I would want to make.

You are operating off of several fallacious assumptions, here.

FIrstly, Metroid Prime is the best-selling Metroid of all time. It and the original are statistical anomalies within the context of their series. Super and Corruption sold about the same, etc.

3D Zeldas sell as well as or better than 2D Zelda, with two of the 3D installments handily outselling the original.

You have to realize that more than one school of design could, can, and does sell.

OT:

If I was the lead designer or Ogre Battle, I would offer Matsuno 10% of the budget to get back on the series, please, for the love of God.

Just for clarification, I'd be able to play as Super Tails, right? And could you add unlimited flying, :D?

I would want to make a racing simulator that bests Gran Turismo and Forza.

I would focus on having as many cars as possible and tons of car customization, as well as obviously having good racing physics.

The thing that pisses me off about GT5 is that like 80% of the 1000 cars are Japanese cars. Like I know its a Japanese developer but how about a few more European and American cars? They missed so many. And why is there no Porsche?

Also I'd have tons of real world and created tracks. And I'd also include drag racing, I don't know why you can't do that in GT. Also I'd have the Volkswagen test track in Germany which has a long enough straightaway to get a Bugatti Veyron to top speed.

Id make a dark-mature Zelda action RPG with someone other than Link as the main protagonist

I will be in a few years and itll be Awesome!!!!!!
