Forums - Sales - Prediction Kinect can hold atleast 75k every week this year...

Tbh what would be really interesting is how the other Kinect software will fare, DC, KS etc.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

seems resonable, I agree

The whole year of 2011? not likely

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

That seems awfully, so I'm gonna say no.

For average, easily.  Consecutive?  That will be difficult depending on the titles, and depending on when there is a price drop.  Only takes 1 off week to throw the prediction off course, but I wouldn't be surprised if it averaged near 100k a week.

Yeah, it sounds pretty reasonable especially as it is selling to both new owners as well as current owners. It ought to have a shot at 10M in the calendar year and it may be as high as 15M depending on whether extremely compelling software comes out for it.

yup. if we see forza 4 (Already confirmed), gears kinect (Rumored), and mabye some lesser hardcore titles kinect has a shot at 15 million. that is, if it sells well during the slow period

Yeah.. maybe. They should be able to do at least 5-6 million in the offseason and another 5 million during the holidays with no problems. Microsoft need to get the games out at the right time though. Supposely they have a slew of developers making Kinect games. Even moreso now after they saw the huge number of sales it had over the holiday. The  last 2 week the XBox 360 sold over 2 million XBox 360's. I'm sure more then 1/2 of those were with Kinect. I think they easily will pass 10 million.

Call me a hater but I think it'll be under 75k come March if not earlier.

There will also more than likely be price cuts to both the 360 and Kinect this 2011 year, so that should help keep sales up.  $99 Kinect, $149-199 360 4GB/Kinect Bundle, $249-299 360 250GB/Kinect Bundle could be likely.  Stand alone 360's I'm expecting $99-149 for 4GB and $199-249 for 250GB.

This seems tough. It will have to do better than New Super Mario Bros. Wii did in 2010. (NSMB Wii dropped below 75k in June, and was below it for quite a few weeks in Q3).

I don't think any non-Wii Sports title has managed 75k every week for its second calendar year. Mario Kart Wii was awfully close, but dropped to 74k in the last week of August 2009. Wii Fit would have made it had it not been for Wii Fit Plus, but it didn't make it.

Oh, it seems Wii Sports Resort made it.

So you're predicting that Kinect will do something that only two games has done before, and those two games are likely to end up being the best selling and second/third best selling games of the generation (barring Wii Sports).

Now, it's going to be far tougher for Kinect to do it, mainly because it has to do it from far lower software sales than Mario Kart Wii and Wii Sports Resorts had.

I doubt Kinect is going to make it. I see it trending more like New Super Mario Bros Wii did. That's mighty impressive still, though.

Yeah i'd say thats a pretty safe bet.
