it can't even beat a 5 years old competitor during this holiday seasons...

Isnt Xbox the 5 year old one, remember Xbox360 is the oldest, so any competitor not being able to beat it should be looked on your terms...

Xbox360 is 6 years old, 5 years old is Wii i'm talking about until now it can't even beat this competitor which is a year younger, get me??

Why did you start when 360 Slim came out? If you did January-December then it would be easier to compare.

Anyway, even when you did start the comparison with the 360 Slim launch Wii still outsold it by 300K so I don't really see how the 360 could outsell the Wii in America for 2011.

As for the people saying that the Wii has no lineup for 2011...where is the 360 lineup? Both 360 and Wii will have a good lineup for 2011 they are both just not showing whats in store.

I wonder, if next year if 360 does end up outdoing Wii magically, even though that's highly unlikely, if people will still claim that "The pricecut means cheaper slim model, so the old 360 users just brought more slims, just sales dips I tell you!".

I tell you, next year Wii will do same or even better numbers than this year. Price cut on Wii will cause some serious damage, I wouldn't say the prospect of 360 outselling Wii in Americas for the year is negligent, but it's highly unlikely, all comes down to how much momentum it'll gain in the 9.5 months leading up to the holidays.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Considering what X360 threw at the competition in 2010 I doubt it.

The Slim and Kinect were suppose to put both nintendo and sony out of business (yes, someone actually wrote that).

Still, anything is possible.

This thread relies too much on nintendo NOT having a price cut, and it almost certainly will, as sales are down. It just really matters when Nintendo gets tired of Wii not selling as much as they would like.

Doubt it. But who knows?

I just don't see it happening, in fact I reckon Wii will pick up in sales next year!

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

no

MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.

This is joke thread, yes?

if 360 stays flat this year hell yes

Microsoft had Kinect, the Slim, Halo, and Fable this year and they still didn't take down the Wii. It looked close for awhile, but Nintendo utterly obliterated the Christmas season worldwide and I see no reason why next year would be any different.

Kinect is obviously huge, but I don't see it being as big as it was this Christmas ever again. Microsoft spent half a billion advertising it, and there's no way they can keep that up

Nintendo has Skyward Sword, and they can afford to drop the price on the Wii whenever they want. The last price drop was in September 2009, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a 25-50 dollar drop sometime in 2011. The Last Story will be big in Japan, though it remains to be seen what kind of legs it will have. There's also Dragon Quest X and Pikmin 3, but we don't have any information about those other than that they exist.

And there's no reason Nintendo couldn't throw together a bundle with a title like Donkey Kong Country Returns or Wii Party, along with some new color of the console.

I also think the Xbox 360's sales could be affected by the PS3. If Sony were to introduce a $199 SKU to go along with their crazy lineup for next year, it could really cut into the Xbox 360's potential audience.

1.) xbox 360 has a price cut, gears 3, rumored halo 1 remake, and plenty of kinect titles coming next year. I believe it will do more than fable, slim and halo.

2.) Kinect boost will be far greater next year than this year because it will have been out a full year.

3.) Zelda, dragon quest, pikmin wont boost wii that much because predeccessers of those games already are on the system. Pikmin had a gamecube remake on wii.

4.) nintendo bundles will be a killer along with pricecut.

5.) Sony isnt going to cut price by more than 50 dollars. PS3 is still in the red. They lost far money money with ps3 than they've gained with ps1 and ps2. their goal is to make money right now and nothing else.

6.) ps3 does have a crazy line up but it wont really affect 360's sales

that is it!
