I still dont see the potential of kinect yet. But once that certain game comes I might pick one up.

I hadn't actually thought about this until you said it. To launch a new accessory about 5 years into a system's life, getting a >10% attach rate alone would be good. To do this this fast, though, is phenominal! |
ive got to say i did not see the 5 mill happening this year. MS continues to surprise me this fall
and 10% is quite amazing i don't think the 32x ever had attach rate that high, nor the eyetoy… if they can get it to 25% it may become a truly viable platform extenuation… i really don't know how that make me feel as a lover of the controller…. also my living room is to narrow and i don't want to re arrange every thing for the kinect …. still if enough good games come out for it i may pick one up in the next year
come play minecraft @ mcg.hansrotech.com

Nice to see the 10%, it is amazing that its happend so quickly. Before launch, I think a lot of people would have been suprised to see 3 million sold.
Hope MS doesn't let this go to their head and they keep striving to make the platform better and better.

Maybe... just maybe... the goal was to attract a casual audience and bringing a more interactive experience that wasn't available on the 360 before.
Hence, we're already seeing the potential.
We'll see some games intended to appeal to a more core audience and those titles will likely get modest sales. The real attraction to the Kinect is casual games like we're seeing now and they are actually pretty fun.

thats some great figures but MS should know that if they'd released any hardcore games for the platform so far then the sales would be way higher
I'm not getting one until theres a good amount of hardcore titles, and the only thing that looks good to me so far is child of eden
End of 2012 prediction:
xbox 360 : 73-75 million
playstation 3 : 72-74 million
wii : 104-105 million
Most hyped for :
Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent
Now the 360 is the 5th best selling home console ever...10 or 12 million more and it´ll pass the NES, becoming the 4th.
I just hope MS doesn´t forget about those of us who don´t care about Kinect, I´m hopeful Gears 3 won´t end up being the only big 360 exclusive this year that doesn´t require Kinect.
