In other news I switched my razor brand to Gillette.

yeah gilette is awesome, if they made electric razors i would consider finding one :)

Yeah well 5 blades are better than 3 right? Im a hardcore shaver.

Yeah well my razor not only has 5 blades, but a single blade on the back for those tricky spots; so fuck you!!

Your razor fanboyism won't get you very far!

Damn it! I was hoping for a job at IGN in their new razor division.

You have to at least pretend to be unbiased and intelligent before they give you the job. That way they don't feel as responsible when everyone they hired turns out to be biased and ignorant.

Everyone is biased and not everyone is ignorant, or at least not ignorant of everything.

It really does not matter the principle is the same and the site as a whole is not biased. Certian individuals at the site are certainly biased, but so is every other gamer. Complete objectivism from the media is not possible.

He still has 360 fanboyism in him. He was delusional enough to say that Forza is better that GT.

It could be better to many people just as a racer. But as a sim, it seems to be generally agreed upon that GT is superior.

Can you still play "bumper cars" in the corners in GT5? If so then, GT5 is not a better sim having the same critical flaw that GT1 had on PS1.

i should link you to a youtube video, it will show that you can play bumper cars in forza and in gt5. but you wont accept it.

Being in 3rd place never felt so good

If you don't own both a 360 and a PS3, then you aren't a real gamer?

How times have changed. Back in the good old days the only requirement to be not a real gamer was to own a Wii, but now you absolutely have to own both HD consoles to be considered a real gamer.

He mean't that you are not a real gamer if you shun games because of some fanboy bs. Remind you of anyone?

Reminds me of you completely agreeing with Daemon Hatfield's Blinded by Mario editorial, but I don't think that that is what you wanted to imply.

That has nothing to do with this, but even if it did, i played Mario and tried it.

I'm pretty new around here. I only post on IGN's PS3 Lobby message board. Is this how people normally react when something like this is posted?

Definitely one of the top two dumbest things I've ever read. This is a perfect example of why I avoid the IGN articles that start with "Why I...." It sounds like he's just trying to justify the purchase of a PS3. He could've kept all that shit to himself.

No he can't, it's his job to write that shit, you and I, we keep that shit to ourselves because we don't need to do that to make money.

If he's required to give his personal opinion on a personal purchase, then IGN's Editor in Chief needs to be let go. He could've posted in the IGN forums or started his own blog for this.

EDIT: lol it's in the blog section. Nevermind then.

It only started to be a woefully useless article when he said more good exclusives are coming this year for PS3 than Xbox 360, thereby making great assumptions about unreleased titles.

Unfortunately, he made this error early on, thereby setting the tone for the rest of the text.

But your making assumption based on unnannounced titles too. For all you know MS could announce 3 new titles by E3 of next year and then another 6 at E3 for christmas 2011/2012 but Sony could do the same thing aswel. Hes basing his opinion on what he knows is coming. Your basing your opinion on speculation and stuff you hope is coming. See the differance there.

But he doesn't know what is coming, anymore than I do.  I didn't attempt to form an opinion because I know that at this point noone is in a position to form a reliable opinion on the end quality of each console's line-up for 2011.

Remember, there was a time when Lair was going to be the exclusive of the year.

Well thats not true considering that over half a dozen titles headed to the PS3 next year are sequels to games that scored really well with critics. Your talking about Lair but that game was a new IP. These games coming are established and well liked titles.

He took a look at what each consol has to offer next year. Seen MS only have 2 established titles announced so far that scored pretty well with critics, took a look at what the PS3 had to offer and made his opinion based on that. Thats enough to form a very reliable opinion in my books.

Then that is your opinion.

You just have extremely liberally defined and highly tolerant books.

By that token, I could say the exact opposite to him, and you're logic would force you to accept it as a legitimate and well-formed opinion.  Though, forgive me, I doubt that you would.

Indeed, the "bumping cars" thing is the only thing important to take into account when deciding what makes a sim a good one.  To hell with car handling and physics. ¬_¬

Gran Turismo released in 1997. Gran Turismo 5 released in 2010. GT5 should not have the same unrealistic flaw as GT1, GT2, GT3, and GT4. So if it has the same "bumper car" flaw as the original game in the series had two hardware generations ago, then simulation aspect is inherently flawed.

Mechanical damage is a toggle option in Arcade Mode, and it's implementation in GT Mode depends on the level of the race in which you're competing.  A level 20 race will have significant repercussions for hitting other drivers, for example, alongside much more challenging AI and other gameplay changes, while a level 1 race will be far more simplistic.

When you know so little about one of the two games, it sounds more like you're simply trying to champion your preffered franchise rather than do any sort of proper comparison.

Granted, the other guy wasn't much better, but at least he didn't question basic information we've known about for over a year.

If you're referring to me I'm basing my comments on the reviews from the guys at Inside Sim Racing.  They've put over 40 hours into the game and haven't seen any mechanical damage and only cursory physical damage.  If you need to be playing longer than that to be able to see good AI and proper damage then something is seriously wrong with PD's implementation of these elements.

For myself I was very excited about getting the game until I found out that my preferred cockpit view isn't supported by 80% of the cars in the game.  Inexcusible.  That and the lack of customization options for the cars kept me from buying it.   Now I'm eagerly awaiting whatever FM4 will bring to the table.

Does that mean you weren't thinking of anyone in particular when you were asking if that reminded me of anyone?

I was thinking of you honestly. I just don't really see you posting about trying out  games on other systems. I was hinting at you picking up a ps3 controller and playing killzone 3 with me in February.

Geez, I don't see why something like this would rile people up, but it did.

Just look @ the console exclusive line up for 360 and PS3 and you'll get an Idea why a bunch of 360 fans here gets annoyed when sum1 talks about what each console has to offer for 2011.

Alot of people saying who gives a shit, but no one said who gives a shit when toastboy makes a thread to say why he likes Live better than PSN, same case, personal opinion, who cares right? But it seems it isn't the case... x)

Aint it ironic?

this is another proof that a certain fans in this forums gets annoyed when sum1 compares their console to the other on what it has to offer in the future and specially when sum1 talks about 2011 exclusives.

UNLESS its winning in the comparison you'll notice they get very defensive.
