Forums - Nintendo - New Wii...need help with games.

@TWRoo  the motion controls do nothing for me, it was fun for a while but a gamepad is just more accurate for me. I just liked the whole switching character thing, and IMHO MKWii was kind of a step back to me it was just another Mario Kart game. and I didnt like the recycled tracks

Monster Hunter Tri, Metroid Other M, GoldenEye, Tatsunoko vs Capcom.

I especially enjoyed Monster Hunter Tri, Capcom's title is incredibly awesome (I had never played a Monster Hunter title before).

Not sure how many the gamecube one had, but Mario Kart 64 only had 16 tracks, so I have absolutely no problem having 16 brand new tracks and 16 old tracks (a majority of which I've never played).

The only problem I have with Monster Hunter games is I've heard they are obscenely long, and while I am very slowly growing to having a taste in RPG's, extremely lengthy games don't really appeal to me...so just out of curiousity with this one, generally speaking, how long exactly is it?  If I hear over 100, pretty sure I'll be turned away...I just don't like putting months of time into a single game, if you know what I mean.

Smash Bros is my biggest suggestion. Red Steel 2 is also pretty neat but its different from most of your list. Don't forget that Zelda Skyward Sword will soon be out! If you like anime, Dragonball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3.

I finished the game more or less in 60 hours, it will depend in your skills as a gamer. Then you also have the online mode where you can spend tons and tons of hours.

The start was a bit slow for me but once you kill the first monster (Big Jaggi) you just want more and more, it's like a drug.

Here are some games that are must haves on the Wii.

  • Monster Hunter Tri (my most enjoyed game on the system)
  • Resident Evil 4 Wii
  • Metriod Prime Trilogy

Some other good games

  • Metroid: Other M
  • Mario Strikers Charged (if you like sports games)
  • Resident Evil Umbrella/Darkside Chronicles (only if you like co op rail shooters)
  • Super Smash Bros. Brawl
  • Punch Out

MK:DD also had 16 tracks.... so MK:Wii had the same number of new tracks, plus those old tracks revisited.

I will admit I miss baby park from MK:DD though, that was frantic (if you haven't played it, it was a really short oblong track which you could do a 10 second lap on a time trial, but with players I think it was 8 laps long rather than the usual 3, and the number of items flying about is insane)

That's awesome!  Could you drift around the whole thing for time trials?
