It's amazing how Sony lost just 1 generation, and everyone thinks they will be the ''losers'' from now on.

It has been more than one generation ...

Sony made several similar decisions with the PSP and PS3 that significantly hurt their success, and (based on rumours which may not be true) Sony may be making these same mistakes over again with the PSP2. This doesn't mean that Sony will be unsuccessful in the future, but it certainly doesn't show that Sony understands the mistakes that they made and knows what to do to become highly successful again.

I'll agree with this. Sony won by changing the game (from an environment dominated by the platform holders and their first-party games to a world of 3rd-party free expression in a standardized environment), Nintendo moved ahead by similarly changing the game, but Sony (and Microsoft) seem reluctant to leave established tactics behind. Their mobility in this market is thus in question.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I have just a few predictions.

2D platformers will become almost as big a genre as they were in the 8/16-bit eras.

Physical media will never die. Anyone atempting a DD only home console will be forced to leave the industry shortly after.

PC will regain some lost strenght when consoles once again becomes the home of 2D platformers.

"Casual gaming" will surpass "hardcore" gaming in revenue.

The end of the SC2 trilogy will be a severe dissapointment.

I LOVE ICELAND!

You know what?  I think Verizon might enter the manufacturer business.  Also, Valve will finally release Episode 3.

Speculation is fun isn't it?

Pixel Art can be fun.

Nice guesses, also I think one of the three will have to leave for apple to really enter.

Well its a safe bet they won't launch a console for $600 again. I think they've learned more than people give them credit for. And any "news" on the PSP2 is just rumours right now.

Actually , I say that because I don't think both Sony and Microsoft will both be declining.

You see once Apple comes into the arena, Sony and Microsoft won't stand a chance against the beast.

Yeah, but to actually knock out two companies that is ludicrous, maybe one, but apple is not strong enough to knock out both.
