Forum demographics!

OT: I'm pretty sure Nintendo will be looking for a way to continue Wii sales once their future console is eventually released into the world. They have created two huge new and successful brands with the DS and Wii, also Iwata has commented on strategies they have to keep the DS alive once the 3DS is released. So I still think Wii overtaking the PS2 in the long-run is possible.

Well, obviously, :P, but those posters had a higher "attach rate", as we might say, in the thread, as well. 40 posters made 40 million posts in that thread, 10 people made 10 posts in this thread, :P. Also, this forum has more Nintenfans than MS fans, too, yet more people celebrate great numbers for the 360.

Oh, and as long as Nintendo doesn't prematurely kill off the Wii, I'd say overtaking the PS2 is easily possible.

Well we know that Wii will likely top PS1 by around end of year ( 40.78M), can't wait.

On Wii go. Will it overtake PS1 by the end of next year? It'll end this year around the 84 million mark, won't it? So it'll need to sell another 18 million in 2011 to top PS1. That's doable, with price cuts and a more consistent release schedule. Maybe vitality sensor, Zelda, Last Story, price cut and more bundles world wide and it can top PS1 by the end of 2011.

So the Playstation 1 is approx 102 million?

Wii will come very close to that FLY BY THAT figure by this time next year!

Playstation 1 is 40.78M in america's, wii could top that by end of year.

if not then 98M it will do end of 2011. Q1 2012 it will likely top PS1 WW, but it will top PS1 in America's end of this year, (40.78M)
