Forums - Nintendo - New THE LAST STORY details - Play Time

NEW DETAILS - THE LAST STORY
- 30 hours play time first time through the game
- Amount will vary if players redo quests/revisit dungeons
- Sakaguchi had hoped to make a game with a good tempo and a feeling of “denseness” about the story
- 12,000 lines of in-game voiced dialogue
- That number was more than Sakaguchi expected
- Can go online after arriving at the first save point
- Character’s level and how much you’ve strengthened your weapons are reflected during the online group boss battle, so you may want to do a bit of single-player first
- Battle royal mode only carries your physical appearance, not level and weapon strength
- Team battle royal mode online
- Online: random matches, play against someone you don’t know, play with friends, play with those with whom you’ve exchanged friend codes
- Replay single-player will all items in tact
- Team is balancing the game for second play throughs, will have specific drop items
- Many details at the game’s conference on the 27th

30 hours is perfect. Especially since there is an online mode (which I'm really excited about btw).

This game is looking better every day.

WE WANT NA/EU RELEASE DATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was expecting around 60 hours. But I prefer that those 30 hours are full of quality.

The play time is fine, hopefully this means filler parts are avoided. Its better to have a shorter game with tighter pacing and more replay value than unnecessary filler parts which most JRPG's have that are pretty boring but inflate the play time to 60 hours or so.

Why do you guys bitch about 30 hours? In my time, games could be completed in 20 minutes. Their treasure was on how many times you would replay it, not how much it took to beat the first time.

Above: still the best game of the year.

Super Mario Bros. vs Call of Duty?

This is the most excitement for an unannounced (for western release) game I think I've ever seen here.

It does look great, no question, and 2011 is so far pretty barren for Wii so I understand why.  I just don't want to get too excited for it, in case we never see it (like so many other NoJ releases).

The online looks impressively solid, quite rare with Wii games, so it's most welcome.   Fingers crossed.

Nice sneaky pick-up of the image I found there

OT: 30 hours is fine. I hope there's loads of optional quests though!

I expect this to be a more RPGey version of Oblivion. If it is, I'm in

I'm in anyway, though
