I am just going by Brett's reasoning for steady and/or lowering holiday sales.

Or maybe u should accept the wii is just more popular and the walmart deals are apart of this weeks deals, weren't they from dec. 17 through the 19

I'm not disappointed, my "apology" post to Toastboy was all in good fun. Believe it or not I only care about games and couldn't give a rat's ass about sales.

They don't benefit me what so ever. It just makes for good talk.

I know what you mean. When the Wii stopped being #1 in weekly home console sales I couldn't be bothered to post in sales threads and enjoyed playing games instead. Now that the Wii is doing well again my interest in sales got renewed.

I will admit that for a while I paid attention to sales but then within the last 6months or so I found this love for lower selling titles. This made me realize how fucking retarded it is caring about sales and not about the games themselves.

The games I am talking about include titles such as:

 

Little King's Story

3D Dot Game Heroes

Split/Second

Nier

Trinity Universe

 

Meanwhile the super high selling GoTY winners like Red Dead, which I purchased day 1 have bored me to tears.

 

I have taken a "fuck sales and fuck reviews" approach, and to be honest I like it because it better reflects the gamer I have been since childhood. I have always played and enjoyed the games most people ignored.

How does GT5 drop only 6% from week 2 in the UK and over 20% in the whole of EMEAA? I thought the UK was supposed to be a relatvely smaller market for the franchise. I guess it could have been more frontloaded in the hardcore GT countries like Italy and France.

Then it makes perfect sense since a smaller market would have a smaller effect proprtionally. You can't just assume that larger markets will have smaller percentage drops; they'll likely have larger ones.

I have learned the truth a long time ago. I have been saying for well over a year or more than going by shit like Metascores is absolutely stupid.

I have even made threads about it.

 

My personal experience has shown that some of the lowest selling titles are indeed the best selling titles.

 

This became even more apparent at work. I would get into discussions with co-workers about shooters and they would all be like "Call of Duty is the best, greatest games ever made" and I would respond with "Sure, what makes you think that?"

They would 100% of the time respond with "Dude, look at how many people bought it!"

 

I would never agree with them because I am more of an Unreal Tournament kind of guy.

I thought UK was its weakest market. Like I said, this numbers are weird.

360 is falling now will continue in EMEAA to drop now. It will probably stabalize at around the figures it was selling just before kinect come out around 50 - 70,000 i think, unless Microsoft can pul a nintendo style game out of the hat i feel kinect will die in EMEAA away from the teenies bedrooms. GT5 must be considered a failure when put next to previous GT's
