Maybe "Nintendo dominates software" would be better

or "Nintendo proves 3rd-party titles can sell well" or "3rd party games sell as well as Nintendo's"

This is also pretty cool.  This is Amazons Holiday Toy List (take it for what it is) and out of the top 60 sorted by bestselling as of 12/20/10 (less than a week from Christmas) there are 3 console video games and they are

  • Just Dance 2
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns
  • Epic Mickey

http://www.amazon.com/gp/holidaytoylist

**Top 60 sorted by bestselling is the default, just wanted to add that.  Also, lol at it being a "Toy" list.

lol what's their source ? Amazon and some retailers ? Surely not as good as Media Create, NPD or VGChartz.

I see plenty of mistakes.

I think I stated the source pretty clearly at the very beginning of the thread. The source is Gamasutra and they are one of the biggest developer centric websites out there. They are huge and I highly doubt they made several mistakes. The article in question Sailing around the world (Here) Gamasutra is a highly reputable site. I'd say their sources are probubly pretty spot on. No it isn't VGChartz stats but it is stats from Amazon and other retailers. I don't specifically know every single source Gamasutra uses and I'm sure they wouldn't list them anyways some of that is confidential.

As for me making a mistake in the title. I did not, it is multiplatform thats exactly how Gamasutra listed it. I understood what it meant how couldn't many of you. Its not mutli-region, it was indeed multiplatform. Basically the sales of titles found on all three platforms. Multiplatform sales rather then single system sales.

haha yeah just read the original article.

The ONLY source they have is Amazon.com, Amazon.co.uk and Amazon.jp...

Every possible source I listed (VGC, NPD, Media Create, Famitsu) is MUCH MUCH MUCH more accurate.

Misleading title, and UK =/= Europe.

Still, I'm glad the mentioned titles are doing so well.
