It's not the sales but the comparison that is wrong here, because Kinect is a pheripheral, it's not a new platform separate from the 360.

The typo stood out so I thought I'de point it out.

Kinect is NOT a platform.  Period.

Numbers? That are more than just adding Wii hardware against Wii Play software?

Kinect has been a monster this holiday season, something I wrote off myself but ended up picking one up lol... those are some impressive sales figures and yes the kinect is seen as a new hardware entry for microsoft, not an add on.  You dont pour more money into advertising for an add on than you do for the console it adds onto, and microsoft themselves confirmed that kinect would see the largest marketing push in company history.

LT I'm unsure wether kinect will do over 150M.

I'm sure Microsoft wouldn't mind that you bought Kinect, hacked it, and then used it on your PC.  They are encouraging other uses.  But then they'd have a problem with you playing Xbox 360 games on your PC via hack.  Any bright ideas here?

Kinect is a platform.  The games are separate from standard 360 games, they REQUIRE Kinect to play their games and you CAN'T play Kinect games without a Kinect device.

Now instead of griping over what you feel or don't feel is considered a platform, how about you comment on the actual figures themselves?  He is free to make any comparison that he wishes and I think it seems some of you can't get past a single word.

Would you rather he put best "hardware" launch ever? Or even "gaming hardware" or "motion platform"?

Stop derailing a perfectly reasonable thread, it's against the rules.  Perhaps you can have a mod clear up these off topic, irrelevant posts?

OT:  That really is impressive.  It does show the haters that Kinect is moving plenty of software given its age and current userbase.  Great thread.
