*Shrugs shoulders*
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Perhaps; however, the only two figures I know FOR SURE are: GTAIV-£47 million FF13- £60 million (I also remember reading that COD games on the HD consoles cost more than 5X as much as on the Wii) *starts looking for source* |
gta 4 actualy cost an estimated 100 million :P ff13 was about 60 or 70 million yes. Obveously it costs alot more to make cod for HD consols. Yo make a game for a HD consol with the intention of making it look graphicly ipressive. Better the graphics the higher the costs. PS360 have alot better graphics than a wii so cost alot more to make games for. graphics arnt atall evrything but they shore as hell make up alot of the costs XD
Yeah i know my spelling sucks but im dysgraphic so live with it :3

It should have sold a lot more on the Wii considering it was originally supposed to come as a download voucher in NBA Elite 11, which subsequently was cancelled, so instead of a PSN/XBLA game, so they threw it on a disc to compete against NBA 2k11 (which even the PSP's version outsold the Wii's version of NBA jam..) As for No More Heroes, what did you expect? It's a 3 year old game where ther remake didn't really blow anybody away graphically and there was even enough time to squeeze out a sequel to the original before the HD version was released. And to be honest, there is only a 4 thousand gap that exists between the PS3 version that could disappear when Move controls have been implimented. Overall I agree with the idea behind this thread, I just think the examples aren't really supportive of anything. x.o |
It was hyped at first but EA screwed it up over the year before its release, so no it really shouldnt have done more. The hype that was there at first had long went away from their horrible mismanagement of the title. Its really a shame Ive enjoyed it. I am still unaware of what the HD consoles even ended up getting on there disc.

I think you should've built/bought a gaming PC if you want WRPG's and other genres. Most Wii gamers here and IRL that I know use a PC-Wii combination. |
I completely agree. So did I until my PC fried. I always meant to replace it but really, aside from games my laptop does everything I need, heck, my phone practically does everything I need, I just can't justify the cost of a gaming PC, or even a PC in general. While it may be infinitely better than a 360, 360s are relatively cheap and don't need graphic upgrades all the time.
Why not do normal distributions and compare them to find out the answer rather than cherry picking 3 titles?
Tease.
NBA Jam on Wii is a case study in how not to handle your IP on the platform. Dead Space Extraction's another great example of self-sabotage... EA really doesn't have a clue on the system.
Counter that with Activision's handling of Goldeneye, Capcom with Monster Hunter 3 or Disney with Epic Mickey. All 3 games were handled pitch perfectly, and for the most part it seems to have paid off.

however, the idea was also to outline the fact that, due to poor decisions on all fronts by companies, the games sell poorly, on all systems. A game needs at least one of the following:
NBA Jam was rated as an M game?
In fairness of the conversation, both NMH and Madworld have rubbish graphics. The art styles in both games is subpar compared to richer environments like RE4: Wii edition or as someone else mention, the Umbrella Chronicles games.
The real bottom line is this: pretty sells. You don't go hit on the girl that's a 5 or a 6 when theres a few 8 or 9s in the place. As said in the OP, both games are very niche and only appeal to a small audience.
Its true though, those who want to make an original Will game that is M Rated will have very little resources and reason to bring the game to the HD system, otherwise they would have done such in the first place and foregone the Wii outright, like many devs have done.
