HD twins strike again.

He is banned anyway good.

Square Enix's fiscal year started 1 April 2010 and ends 31 March 2011? Only 3 HD games have come out since, Neir Kane/Lynch and Front mission and one xbl/psn game.  Even though the three games didnt do that well, the main source of revenue is FF11/14.  FF14 cost a ton to make and did abysmal.   This guy is a constant troll who thinks he knows everything, glad to see some action taken

Please, Enix! Separate from Square already. They're gonna crumble apart and I don't want DQ to die with them, :(.

I think it's worth remembering that SE last fiscal year had a record year for profits and revenue, so although things have tumbled a bit this year I think it's more a sign of just them having a 'bad year' where the game they banked on didn't come to fruition. To suggest this one year, which poor results were pretty much caused by FFXIV, is something to worry about in terms of the long term performance of SE is a bit silly. They're still posting a profit afterall, despite having no real 'hits'.

They had already forecasted a weaker Fiscal 2011 then the record breaking 2010 - just FFXIV turned out to be a bomb. Still, SE look like one of the more healthy publishers in the video game business - and next year has new games in their most established franchises - Deus Ex, Batman, Tomb Raider (Maybe), Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy etc - which this year severely lacked.

They could sure do with getting a few Eastern series, other then FF and DQ, actually selling a decent amount of units though.

Uh he wasn't banned for that post and FFXIII released a month before the new fiscal year in NA so it has just as much to do with success or failure of this FY too, it's not sales of Mario Kart Wii only count for 2008... FF14 was also supposed to launch on PS3 this year but was delayed over and over again, that goes into production costs this year and ends up on this years reports despite FFXIV coming out next fiscal year on PS3.

You also forgot Supreme Commander, yeah it released around the same time as FFXIII in the states but it released in all other regions on this fiscal year.

Also don't bait people by calling them trolls especially when what he was banned for has nothing to do with this thread.

MaxwellGT2000 - "Does the amount of times you beat it count towards how hardcore you are?"

Wii Friend Code - 5882 9717 7391 0918 (PM me if you add me), PSN - MaxwellGT2000, XBL - BlkKniteCecil, MaxwellGT2000

Good thing they can't blame the Wii for this, because... They aren't releasing anymore Wii games. DQX, far in the horizon, probably 2012, so if there are losses next year it won't be Wii's fault.

dont worry, Dragon Quest cant die, they could sell the rights of that franchise to Level 5 since they've been making most of the games anyway

Delaying FFXIV for the PS3 is actually one of their better decisions. What would you guys rather have? A port from the PC in the games piss poor current shape? or a port that will be of better quality in a game that hopefully can live up to the FF name?

what ff name are you talking about? ff went downhill after FFX..

i miss SquareSoft :(

I've been calling the alarm of Square for years. Even Square and Enix having been giving the consumers alarm bells, but non of it's fans ever listen. This is just another sign of their impeding implosion.  Though I doubt this is it or it will be soon.

Making cinematic experiences on the level of FF series these days are some of the most expensive development costs. Then to share the same costs among numerous projects because insanely expensive. That's why Sqr and Enx joined. To handle the costs and development. That still wasn't enough. So they bought out companies that made quicker to develop action games(much to the RPG puns of the consumers).

Watch the signs. Good games do not equal a healthy company. When you reach the peak of a mountain their is only one direction to go and SE isn't looking to aim at plateau's.

Just watch I give it a few years before SE starts a really bad downward spiral unless something big and smart changes in their management.

o yeah! delaying the iphone port of Final Fantasy Tatics probably didn't help.. and whats keeping my Secret of Mana? >:(
