Forums - Sony Discussion - Mass effect 2 looks much better on PS3(video comparison inside)

You contradict yourself a bit...

If Mass Effect 1 playtime/choices/conversations/actions had no bearing on Mass Effect 2 then definitely it would NOT matter.

However, it does have bearing. Something like 200 different possible outcomes (cant remember where i saw an entire list, but it is around that number) that Ps3 owners probably can't have other than a pre-set number.

Not only has this had a long time afte the original to release, but it is also on the new ME 3 engine so it better have better graphics!  Now as for ME 3 on both consoles I'm sure they will look the same or slightly favor the 360 graphcially.

The contradiction might have come from me leaving out the word "NOT" before my edit.  And I agree that a well made RPG with choices will have bearings especially if it's tied to a sequel.  But what's to stop someone who played Mass Effect 1 only to decide to play the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 to get that potential better experience?  That player has the option of recapping the story of the original in the comic into to coincide with his original actions.  I don't see the issue here in regards of enjoying Mass Efect 2.

...or end up like the Dragon Age situation except without a framerate as bad, but still less.

I would think that the graphics would at least be the same since Bioware is already working with the Mass Effect 3's engine for the PS3 NOW for Mass Effect 2.  This just give them more practice with the PS3 when Mass Effect 3 come out.

That was a brand new engine w a completely different type of game.  I doubt the ME3 engine is going to be anywhere near similar to that engine and the years of experience they have on 360 as opposed to the PS3 should show through.

Still there is always that chance.

Oops, I didn't know it was developed under the Eclipse engine. Thanks for pointing that out, and my bad.

Get it on PC if its hardware is sufficient enough.

I dont mean this in slightest offense, but I don't think you fully grasp what I am saying. I am not saying that PS3 people can't simply play ME1 on another console/pc. Sure they can, but it wont affect their PS3 game. The contradiction you made is when you said "Mass Effect 1 is Mass Effect 1" . That game has bearing on every subsequent gmae in ME series.

In Mass Effect 1, players choices and things you did carried over into Mass Effect 2, using the SAME save file. This was a huge selling feature for the game. One that even if you play ME1 on PC/360 and THEN play on PS3, WILL NEVER get to enjoy. EVER. Bioware said you can choose the basic choice options: whether or not Wrex dies, Ashley dies, etc at the start of the PS3 version... but those are the most basic choices made in ME1. There are over 200 things that PS3 people won't have that is unique to their game. My friends and I all played similar games of ME2, but many little things happened differnetly as a result of our ME1 save files... different characters resurfaced, different missions came about, or altered conversations.

Yes, the PS3 version definetely comes with free DLC and improved visuals and that is awesome, but PC/360 already have the DLC, its nothing we don't have. But the PS3 version can NEVER experience the feature of save file transfer and therefore has less content. Fact.
