It exists, it just isn't a good reason.

Has anyone actually verified the GT5's physics are unmatched.
I'm not saying they're not just that there doesnt seem to be any impirical evidence to support the claims.
Just a load of fans essentially saying its an indisputable constant.
This despite one reviewer claiming the Physics model is largely the same as in the original GT. Which is why he was scoring the game so low.
To give another reason why I feel there is a disparity look no further than Development time.
Forza 3 got pushed out the door on time and was developed in an acceptable time frame.
I wont comment on GT5's dev cycle other than it was longer than Forza 2 and 3 put together.
Also the hype for GT5 got stupid and probably alienated some reviewers.

I'm not sure where these claims come from, but even if they are true, they do not detract from gameplay. It must also be noted that GT5 is rendered at a higher resolution and has more cars on the track. |
Forza does run much smoother than GT5. Forza 3 is LOCKED at 60 fps with almost no screen tearing. GT5 framerate lowers quite a bit when there are more than 4 cars on the screen at once and tears like crazy. GT5 does run at a righer res and does have more cars on the track but Forza is also doing things that GT5 is not doing. Tire Deformation, instant rewind, more detailed enviroments, and the ability to add up to 1000 vinal layers per side on a vehical to name a few.
Certain PSN/XBL games score higher average scores than full retail games which are overall richer experiences.
It would be nice if scores were all somehow scored in accordance with one another so we knew for certain which games were absolutely better than others in some fantastical factual nature.
However such a system would never ever be possible due to the nature of how reviews are scored based on preference and opinion. We need some sort of super god like machine to score all games against one another from now on.
All I know is that GT5 offers more than Forza; FACT.
Maybe its because it has more...features!?
ZOMG!ZOMG!ZOMG!
...jk haha I haven't played either, but GT5 got shot down for no reason.
Different standards.
Anyway GT5 is way better than Forza 3... not comparable.
Looking at it now, Forza has a lot more perfect scores. Of about 4 of them, the same reviewer hasn't given a review of GT5.
Okay, seriously, the menus are beautiful. This is my first time ever playing a Grant Turismo game and I can tell you, that i've had no trouble at all navigating the menus.
Also, the enviroments stand out horrifically. Probably not on a lot of the maps, but whilst I was playing on a nascar track (can't remember the name sorry, it was circular if that helps) the jaggies and low resolution environments just stood out, it was horrible.
