lol someone is a bit upset and on full damage control I see, having trouble accepting this weeks numbers I guess.

I know... looks like carl can't let it go :s

@Carl... If you want to compare DK numbers with VG data, you should wait until we get the VG numbers for DK..... don't you think?

Carl is treating Jarrod to the same methods he is using himself, not that I expect you tell it to him tho :P

eitherway fact of the matter is, DKCR released in the holiday season in Jp, in the highest selling console base it ever had (unless I'm mistaken, please feel free to correct me) and the numbers are average at best. No need to try and downplay other games to make your fave game look better, it's a silly tactic and one that's easy to see through. reality is console gaming in general is a bit downhill now in Jp.

I'm not reaching, I'm presenting rock hard data to support what I say.  Series comparisons with full series installments from the most respected tracker out there... and in return, you've discounted games you seemingly haven't played, childishly cried how you can use VGC data if you want to (yes, you can, good for you), throw up admittedly disingenuous comparisons with demos and cast vague/tired system wars insinuations.  Yeah, I guess it is okay for you to reach, I mean it's nearly all you've doing in this entire thread.

I'm not the one who came into a thread with an aim of putting one game down and making the other look bigger than what it actually is. You're well known for doing things like this. So I honestly don't care :D

@Tool

B... But... But it's so unfair comparing 2 different trackers!

@MUGEN

Did CGI tell you I was doing that, or did you guess it yourself?

Not a themed bundle, obviously.

On that same note, DKC:R is on the highest selling Nintendo home console, yet sold the lowest in the series. Sometimes, things aren't always so clear cut.

What, IF ANYTHING, are you basing this assertion on? Because nevermind that it's actually outsold the first week of Donkey Kong Country 3 on the SNES (unless you're actually playing along with Carl in pretending that somehow VGC numbers from a time when VGC didn't even exsit are more reliable than Famitsu's?), I doubt that you would have accepted someone saying something like this about GT5 back in the launch thread for it without wanting to wait for the next few weeks of sales.

No one is making another game look worst or better... he just stated facts, raw numbers. How is that making a game look better/worst?? that's freaking stupid.....

And no... Jarrod is using what is believe to be the most accurate source for sales in japan. User base is not that big of deal, believe me. Holiday season, yeah, I can accept that one. And so far like Jarrod said, based on the numbers we have, it is the best entry in the past 3 generations.

Once the Vgchartz numbers come in, we can compare it to Vg past numbers...until then, Famitsu is all we got.

GT5 is already bundled.  It hasn't seemed to help.

Well, I'm not sure GT5 will see a Prologue-esque bundle (ie: given away free a year after release, doubling it's ltd).  That's actually never happened for a GT game before, they've gotten release timed bundles similar to GT5.

Honestly, I'd say there's even a better chance DKCR gets the NSMB treatment next year, and has a holiday bundle with a new color (Green?  Yellow?).

And uh, Wii isn't the highest selling home console in Japan (and it certainly won't be, it'll be lucky if it catches SFC at this point)?  Where are you  getting that from?

GT5 is outdoing GT PSP, so it's not the worst.

Well... that's true.  DKCR is also outselling every handheld DK platformer ever, so that's at least actually something they do share in common.

Wrong again.

It's actually at a statistical tie with Donkey Kong Land.

I haven't been "wrong" yet.  everything I've said is supported by data. <3

Though DKL1 is actually the one game in the series we don't have Enterbrain data for.  It might be tied with DKCR, but DKCR is well ahead of any other handheld entries.

SO you are telling me that Vgchartz is more reliable than famitsu in japan, for the past games... when Vgchartz didn't exist????

Look, just wait a day or 2, and compare DKCR numbers with past games, when we get the numbers in. Until then, Famitsu is the most realiable source to use....

Of course I read your post.  That's how I knew you were discounting a game you never played on the grounds of how it plays.  <3

In front of 3 other GT games or 3 other GT demos?  Does having only 20% new modeled cars make GT5 a demo now?

Tip - The word "unless" was put into my post for a reason. I wasn't being a total douchebag... Just part of one :)

And on this one. Where did I say GT5 was a demo? I didn't at all. I said it was infront of 3 other GT Games. You can call them demo's if you want. I'm pretty sure i will have done the same. if we can call GT5 a demo. Then wow. A demo of a game outsold DKCR Week 1

I'm not the one who did that either.  And I already asked you to stop the mudslinging.  Next time I'll simply report you.

No. Not at all. I'm saying I can use VGC numbers for the data if I want to. If I want to spin something to make it suit my argument, I will use data I can get. This just so happens to be VGChartz data <3

And... No. I don't want to wait. It's pointless waiting. I want to argue about it now. That's just what I do. I need to have the final word. ;)
