How many weeks will it take till MHP3 drops below 100k?

Sony's expectation is made by retail's expectation. 3 weeks and over the first shippment (500k) = GREAT. |
This doesn't make any sense at all.
Level 5 CEO openly stated he wants Nino Kuni to sell 1-2 million. However, the first shipment for it by the retailers is only 600K. By your logic, Nino Kuni would have met Level 5's expectation by selling out 600K since it is the retailer's expectation. I'm sure Hino would be happy about that.
MikeB predicts that the PS3 will sell about 140 million units by the end of 2016 and triple the amount of 360s in the long run.
Some Famitsu 1st week comparisons...
Level 5 new IPs 1st week
Home console Donkey Kong platformers 1st week
Shiren series 1st week
...Ninokuni's okay-ish, DKCR is actually great by series standards, Shiren 5's a mega-bomba.

I hear ya Beuli, I thought the same of GT5. It's like I said, either those games weren't enough to fulfill past expectations, or Japan is a shifting market. |
DKCR is pretty much nothing like GT5 in Japan. The former is the best series debut in 3 generations, the latter is the worst series debut (and follwing 2 weeks) in 3 generations.

Seriously... You shouldn't include Jungle Beat in there at all considering how you played it. Unless of course I'm wrong, and you could play it without the stupid bongos... I know the NPC! version was without the Bongo controller. If you're gonna include that then you may aswell include portable DK games. It looks like you're really grasping at straws to make DKCR seem more than what it is right now.
And why compare Media Create 1st week to Famitsu?
If we compare MC DKCR to VGC past DK games, here are the previous DK 1st Weeks excluding Bongo...
So there we have the actual lowest ever opening for a real DK Game ever in Japan that wasn't a port, jarrod. So no. DKCR isn't "the best series debut in 3 generations". Sorry.

Famitsu data is all we have for the SFC days, MC doesn't go back far enough. That's why I used Famitsu, plus it (along with MC) is pretty widely recognized as the standard in Japanese sales tracking. Speaking of grasping at straws, what sort of coverage did VGC have in Japan in the mid 1990s again. ;)
Best opening in 3 decades. It's like the anti-GT5. <3

Actually, looking at the numbers from main titles in the Donkey Kong/DK Country series, the sales are easily comparable. They sell on par with each other, but DKC:R had a far less impressive opening than past iterations. GT5 had the worst opening in japan for the series, yes, but it's opening wasn't as bad in comparison. |
Uh, did you look at the figures I just posted, it's more impressive than DKC3, DK64 or Jungle Beat. It's well ahead of all the handheld games also (if you want I can post that data too, except the first DKL which never charted). it's behind the first two SFC iterations, but not actually by much it turns out (less than 100k each)... again, the GT5 comparison seems less than apt all things considered. And honestly, at this point I think DKCR may end up outselling GT5 even.

Brett is happy with the data, which means I am too
I'm on VGC, so I will use VGC data. I wont go looking up other data to try make something look better than what it is.
DKCR is the lowest opening for a real DK game ever on consoles. I'm honestly not bothered about that though really. The game will go on to sell a Million there. What annoyed me was you yet again trying to shit all over something Sony.
Change your record. You're annoying.
