3DS cartridges to be as big as 8GB?

Nintendo has contracted the production of its Nintendo 3DS cartridges to Taiwan-based solid-state maker Macronix. And apparently, those cartridges offer enormous memory space.

According to Taiwanese-site Gamrade, the 3DS cartridge is able to hold up to 8GB, but it's rumored Nintendo will be enforcing some kind of 2GB limit on 3DS games (details are few and far between in the report), with 1GB the supposed very least required. So don't hold your breath for 8GB Nintendo 3DS games any time soon; however, that may change over the course of the console's life.

I'm not hyped but I find it interesting at least because of the way it uses the gyroscope/motion sensor to control the game camera.

I don't have any 3DS games I'm really hyped for, though I'm excited to try out Ocarina of Time and hopefully getting a refined version of MGS3.

What am I hyped about is the potential and the features. The 3DS gives developers potential to really create something new and unique with its online capabilities, and having a device where every game is 3D should propel 3D games and experimentation with 3D gameplay forward. That is something I can get excited about!
