Mario Party 2

It's like an early Christmas present from NoE. Like how DKC3 was released on the VC on Christmas day 2007 here in Europe.

I was pretty much done by then, and there were some gems that need to be revisited. Besides Ogre..I have that one. I would just like to try Aiydn Chronicles to be honest! CAn some one send me a message telling me how to create my own post? I did it a while ago but cannot seem to find where to do it now. Thanks! If only MGM would let Nintendo release Goldeneye on VC with impromved framerate, online, and all the cut out stuff that you could only get to with a game shark then our dreams would come true!!! That shouldn't be to hard right? Maybe the online mode part..... |
Even if MGM gave their permission, I highly doubt Goldeneye could come to VC. I think Rare owns all the game engine, maps, sound effects, etc. The only Rare games that could come to the VC are the 3 DKC games (which already have been released) and DK64. Although, I have heard a rumour that DK64 can't come because it's game engine was modelled off the one used in Banjo Kazooie, which is owned by Rare.
The main N64 game I want to see on the VC is Mischief Makers. Other treasure games such as Gunstar Heroes and Sin and Punishment have made it, so I can't see why this hasn't released yet. Oh and Pilotwings 64.

YES! I've been waiting for this and Mario Party 3 for a very long time (I regret selling my N64 to buy a GC, I've rebought every game I sold except those).
Just need MP3 now.
I like 2. That's one I want to get.
A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.
Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs
Most won't agree with me, but the only mario party game I've ever remotely liked is #8. I especially didn't like the N64 ones. They were so gimmicky and shallow.
At this point VC is irrelevant. Give me Ken Griffey Baseball, Blitz, bomberman 64, goldeneye, perfect dark, or conker. Then I will have an ounce of respect for VC.

Not true. Mario Party 4 and Mario Party DS are great games.

This wouldn't matter, Nintendo retained copyright over all games RARE developed with their established licenses (so all the DK games and Star Fox Adventures) and that includes any game code. RARE retained copyright over any original properties they developed for Nintendo (ie: Perfect Dark, Killer Instinct, Banjo, Conker, etc), but licensed games (like Goldeneye or Mickey's Speedway USA) fall into a grey area, which is why you'll probably never see them on either VC or XBLA. Another messy situation was Diddy Kong Racing, because it had RARE IPs in it (Banjo and Conker included), which is why for the DS port those characters were removed.
The reason we haven't seen DK64 on the VC is probably because the game uses micro-code, and thus makes proper emulation a more difficult undertaking. I do think we'll see it eventually, but it's worth noting it's the only game in Nintendo's catalogue that uses microcode (the rest are all 3rd party games like Factor 5's Star Wars Rogue Leader, Angel Studios' RE2 port, Boss Game Studios' World Driver Championship, etc, plus other RARE games).
I agree with you on wanting Mischief Makers and Pilotwings 64 though. I'd also really like to see Excitebike 64, both Goemon games, Rayman 2, Bangaioh (import!) and Harvest Moon 64 before the service dries up.
I'm still waiting on Lucas Arts' games. And Road Rash 64.
