nooooooooooooooooo

i hated that when i went to buy a game for the PSP that was a franchise it was not made by the same studio. Uncharted is made by Naughty Dog. No Naughty no Buy. this is not Uncharted lol

This.

I don't want some other studio ruining the franchise

A PSP2 Uncharted is a MAJOR opportunity...and ND should do it.

NO, they are busy working on Uncharted 3, and if they have any spare people they should be working on Jak 4

Jak 4? lololololololol

I really don't think thats happening this gen.....unless they do Jak 4 instead of Uncharted 4.

Only ND can push PSP2 to the max, they must make Uncharted for it!

But they've never worked on the PSP, and they have no interest in doing so, they are a PS3 developer!!

Also, Jak the Lost Frontier reminded me of how good the Jak series was and why it should be continued

They had never developed for the PS3 but there first game they did Uncharted 1 and it was amazing! if Naughy Dog isnt making this then the charm that made uncharted one of my best games of all time is gone.

its like playing the new crash games, there not crash

Its a bit sad ND will not be picking it up, but I guess Bend is also a good enough developer. Lets hope for an new epic adventure on the PSP2 rather than just a port over.

OT: I think for it to be a major hit, a multiplayer component is very important to play on the go. The reason why MH is selling like hotcakes in Japan is because of the multiplayer side and I do think its important to have a solid MP for handheld games to move consoles/games. Because only then people who has it will ask their friends to buy as well, and not lend them to play or trade it off.

I do think Sony's strategy for handhelds will be to get the FPS lovers onto the platform. I think 3DS with only one stick will not be able to provide the experience FPS players want. Maybe Sony wants to be the xbox of handhelds who knows /shrugs.

Even if ND can push PSP2 to the max (I'm not sure they can since they never worked on PSP), why would they want to do that before PSP2 is even released O_o.

It will only make future games look bad, all PS3 games would have looked like crap if a game like Uncharted 2 was a launch title.

OT:  Uncharted already established itself as a character driven series, you can make a TPS Resistance game without Hale, but a game without Drake simple cannot be Uncharted, making a "spin off" of different style is probably not going to work, it has to be about Drake; if they can acutally pull off the usual intense cinematic action on a small screen, then wow, if not...... well, they know what they're doing, hopefully it will be a success, this game might make me an earlier PSP2 buyer if its acutally turns out to be good.

Ready At Dawn are working on consoles now apparently, they did the handheld stuff to get them a nice little nest egg incase it all goes balls up on the more expesive console side of things.

I think it's inevitable PSP2 has an Uncharted game, but I still can't quite see the point in it. I'd rather play Uncharted on my 40'' HD screen on my sofa in surround sound etc, if I'm playing a handheld game I wanna play Pokemon or Tetris or puzzle quest or something, something which doesn't require too much concentration and can be shut down as soon as my bus journey is over or whatever.

I fear Sony are again missing the point on the developement side of handheld games if they try make another 'epic' handheld game, but hey maybe this is Uncharted crossed with bejewelled or something :P.

Apparently Sony Bend is Sony's bitch developers restricted to handhelds. Not getting a chance to expand, get exposure, more profit, recognition and showing that they can still make a great console game. Sony treats their developers great except for Sony Bend......very disrespectful and discouraging to be restricted in only making handheld games when they can deliver a top notch stealth action game in Spyhon Filter something the PS3 could very well use after the loss of Solid Snake and to increase the depth of exclusives games in general. They can give the PS3 that advantage and bring Syphon Filter back into the mainstream but Sony isn't letting them. Instead they continue to restrict them and treat them like shit.

Honestly, a lot of times handheld games turn out to be better than their console counterparts

A new Syphon Filter for the PS3 is going to be 10x better then a Uncharted game for the PSP2. Of course not if it but it won't. Sony Bend has some very critically acclaimed games. I'm sure a potential Uncharted game for the PSP2 will be great but it's time Sony stopped treating them like shit and let them make a much more relevant game. I mentioned previously a list of benefits it would bring them. It's incredibly disrespectful to limit them to handhelds only when they can make a new epic Syphon Filter that again has huge benefits for not only the studio but the PS3 and Sony more so then making this game will. If it's going to be done it will be done with high quality especially considering it's Sony Bend. Maybe they don't have the funds so Sony should give them come cash for more manpower and a decent budget but they won't because they would rather continue to shit on them and deny them the list of benefits to be had from Syphon Filter on the PS3(or even a new IP though hopefully it's not).

You want a new Syphon Filter, but plenty of people want Uncharted on the PSP. The last game sold over 4m and Uncharted 2 won pretty much every game of the year award that it could have done, so there is plenty of interest in the franchise. Somebody has to make PSP games, and Sony Bend are great at it, Sony is just not going to give up on the PSP

Not to mention this should be done by Naughty Dog. They can use a small team to make it. They have the money and they have expanded after the success of Uncharted. Or Ready At Dawn. I don't believe they have enough experience yet with consoles. So with a big PSP2 launch title that will definitely help them continue to grow. Maybe they do have enough experience though obviously Sony Bend has much more experience therefore they shouldn't be doing this when another studio can. Hopefully this isn't true or if it is Syphon Filter is still a go and this is in the early stages. Sony Bend makes high quality titles and they have done great things for Sony's handheld so it's long overdue that they finally get a chance to really do something.

Naughty Dog are THE premier PS3 developers. They are literally the best at coding for that console, and they have the ICE team as part of them who are responsible for helping other developers with coding. Naughty Dog have expanded, but they now have to take care of DLC and online and of course, the more manpower the better for the best franchise on PS3.

Ready at Dawn are an independent studio, so they can do what they want. They haven't had any experience with HD consoles, and they have kind of given up on consoles I thought, it is unknown what they are doing

Why not have specialised PS3 and PSP developers? When somebody is good at coding for one, why change them to a console which they are not familiar with?

@Horrorfest.

I think you're assuming too much:
SONY Bend doesn't won't to work on PSP
Working on PSP is bull compared to PS3
Dev's should be able to freely pick which system they want to work on, leaving it possible for no first party support on a system for a company with more than one.
All dev's should work on main home consoles instead of handhelds if they really want to shine.

These simply aren't true or can't be proven. I especially want to go against the last one. Bend, Ready at Dawn, Square Enix, SCEJ, these are just a few that have been heavily praised for their handheld work on the PSP.

Demon's Souls won game of the year at Gamespot. Recognize, bitch D=< j/k

Also, anyone who knows Naughty Dog knows that by after Uncharted 3 will come Uncharted Kart Racing.

To further your last point, I think you only have to look at Level-5 to see what handhelds can do for a developer.
