This Makes no sense.

There are 2 versions, the Wii and the PS3 version which has the bonus content..niether are localized.

but if NB had to choose one it would definitely be the PS3 version, becuase it would be the cheaper one!

adding all the bonus content to the Wii version localization would cost more than just localizing the PS3 version which already hads the content.

2. The strategy behind releasing the Wii version in the west then PS3 is Wii version sells well is stupid! it makes no sense all the way

I own both a PS3 and Wii if buy the Wii version, why buy the PS3 version version? the use a whooole different fanbase to gauge a release for a different console is ridicoulous

this is obviously fake

it doesnt sound right and if it doesnt sound right its becuase it isnt

Are you sure about that well just have to see we cant tell without a statement from them or working there.

remember the PS3 version is not a New game build... its the Wii version upscaled and with bonus content so hell im positive that the Wii version was still more Xxpensive to make than the PS3 port just because it was bild from the ground up for Wii

Yea i see what you guys are saying but if this rumor turns out to be true then there are factors that we just didnt know about which caused them to release a wii version with the bonus content instead of the ps3 version.

Well the fact he called Vesperia a shit game and that he has NO source for his article I Am highly doubting it. People on Tales Union and on Scamco's facebook page have been talking about this and they all agree that the validity of that artice is heavily doubtable. I for one wouldn't be happy if they released it on wii since I' m really looking forward to this and I don't have a Wii to play it on D:

on no.. this isnt a PS3 vs Wii thing. I own both so wherever it lands ill be hapopy to pick it up. Just the OP makes no sense in justifying what hes saying.

A Port Will Never be more Xxpensive then the original build no matter how its ported... unless the use build a new engine then wouldnt be a port.

Hell this could possibly be true becuase NB is just a stupid ass comapny run by the old ways..so this kinda wouldnt shock me

but if they are so worried about finance...... then OP is actually counter productive.

Well first I'll say, that I do hope they bring the game over on either platform or even both so that everyone is happy.  I just want to play the game, although I guess for me personally I'd rather it at least be the Wii version.

As for the reasoning it does seem a little quirky, but I guess we'll just wait and see what happens.  I mean I don't understand why not just release it on both, but maybe there are other factors at play we don't know about.  I mean development costs aren't the only thing people.  Lots more costs involved when releasing a title and obviously there are other factors that may be influencing their decision if it turns out true.

Oh i never meant it as a wii vs ps3 thing just that there could be factors we may not know about.

So instead of just localizing the PS3 version AS IT IS, they include the PS3 extras in the Wii version and localize this version?

Bandai Namco, the kings of dumb decisions.

This thread needs more of this:

playing right now: Xenoblade Chronicles

Hype-o-meter, from least to most hyped:  the Last Story, Twisted Metal, Mass Effect 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2, Final Fantasy Versus XIII, Playstation ViTA

bet with Mordred11 that Rage will look better on Xbox 360.

Reasons I can think, assuming this even turn out to be true for why they would bring a Wii version over instead:

1. ToGF is just ToG Wii upscaled. When it comes to graphics, the game still looks like a Wii game and would be better marketed as a good looking Wii game, rather than a not so good looking HD game. I doubt it'd be that hard to downscale the textures a bit anyway to how the Wii version looked. Space isn't a reason this time. Edit: And they'd only have to downscale the new content.

2. Possible Nintendo involvement? Since ToG Wii had a bundle and also an Iwata Asks, and could be a good game to fill up the gap in 2010. SW3 also had a bundle and Nintendo is bringing that over, although in this case Namco would bring it. But of course it could be a similar case with MS and ToV.

Personally I would think the most plausible reason why it would only be the Wii version, would be if it wasn't Namco Bandai actually doing the localizing it.  Doesn't seem to be a part of this rumor here, but if it was a company like Xseed actually doing the localizing, they would feel most comfortable doing the Wii version as they have done Wii games before.  So that's what I kinda get out of this.

But there is a possibility of Nintendo involvement.  Given Xenoblade and Last Story will most likely come out in the west next year as well, they may just make it a nice trifecta for release.

But who knows the complete things behind this if it does turn out to be true.  Could all just be discussing something that is nothing.  I hope not though haha.

And why exactly is the Wii game more likely to do well in the West?  that certainly isn't true in the East and since they haven't released any PS3 tales in the West I have no clue what they might be basing this off of,

Historical precedent.  In the west, Tales always bombed on PS1/PS2, yet sold amazingly on GC and decent (for what it was) on Wii... I don't see much reason to believe that'd spontaneously change for PS3?  Other JRPGs certainly aren't doing better on PS3 in America than they did on PS1/PS2?

@jarrod

I think is because of the art style, the Sony fans prefer realistic graphics while the Nintendo ones really like the cartoonish look
