Week 49 is DKCR launch week in Japan and according to the Japan preview we already expect the Wii to drop YoY to somewhere between 110,000 and 125,000. In EMEAA Wii was down 5% YoY in EMEAA during week 48. With no special pricing Wii dropped 36% YoY in NA during week 48 and last year week 49 Wii dropped about 20%. Wii had gift card deals at Walmart ($50) and ToysRus ($20) during week 49 in NA.
PS3 is expected to drop YoY 5,000 to 20,000 in Japan according to the preview . In NA with GT5 launch lingering PS3 dropped only 5% YoY during week 48. In EMEAA YoY PS3 dropped about 5% during week 48. With no special pricing in NA this past week and GT5 launch two weeks ago my thoughts is that PS3 will drop more YoY.
X360 is expected to jumpt about 50% in Japan. EMEAA was up over 30% YoY last week. No new titles launched this week. In NA and EMEAA X360 sales will continue to see similiar results as the Kinect effect is not wearing off.
So I predict the following:
| Wii | PS3 | X360 | |
| NA | 500,000 | 250,000 | 500,000 |
| Japan | 117,500 | 65,000 | 5,000 |
| Everwhere else | 470,000 | 325,000 | 300,000 |
MediaCreate Japan Numbers in for the week. Needless to say not nearly the sales predicted in the Japan preview.
Wii - 79,424
PS3 - 41,882
X360 - 3,695
Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.
