Kinect is looking goooooood!

No thank you, I choose to "hate on" the most bloated ego the web has ever seen and a man who has proven his lack of insight time and time again and alltogether stopped posting about his previous favourite subjects after having made a fool of himself. Malstrom is a moron and a huge narcissist and is perhaps the most clearly biased web personality we have today (that gets any attention, that is). He is nothing but a fanboy who writes above average, imo.

The only reason he's "hitting" my nerves is all the undeserved credit he gets, just like John Lucas he gets away with spewing out crap that he never needs to answer for, even his latest post goes against his earlier ones (World of Warcraft is so good because it gives immersion and one can dream away, all other "hardcore" games are bad becasue they immerse the gamer too much and aren't as suited to "picking up and play"). He is full of contradictions and hot air and has more arrogance and audacity than anyone else I've read online, he's even worse than Pachter.

I'm sorry, the man is full of shit and people are finally starting to see it. I guess you like him simply for his unconstrained hate of the Playstation brand and ditto love for nearly all things Nintendo. Malstrom is the very definition of a populist, there is no way he would have written anything or had any opinions on anything if Nintendo was in third place this gen. If they end up not winning next gen, Malstrom will disappear and fall into the hole he crept out of. His patronizing, self-contradicting and arrogant nature will not be missed.

If you want to hate everyone with opinions differing from his, go ahead. As far as gaming press goes, I don't much listen to them either, they're equally full of shit.

Edit; where is Malstrom's massive following? He seems to have a lot more haters than fans, part of the reason why he doesn't permit comments on his articles. His "fresh air" is actually a long winded fart, only some people ignore the stink because the sound fascinates and soothes them.

Sony is doing something wrong this Xmas in America, but what? Has it maybe started Xmas marketing too late? If this is the case, we'll see next weeks...

Whoa.  When did I ever said I wanted Kinect to be a failure?  Kinect may not be my thing, but if it's what you want, more power to you.  Dude, don't put words into my mouth just because I make a valid point.  I live in the States, I know about the hype and culture such as "on to a already stunning AAA games lIbrary."  See, you're proving my point.  There is no need to get hostile.

Welp, we'll have to agree to disagree then. I think he is by far the person that makes the most sense amongst all the gaming media, 99% of whom have proven their stupidity and ignorance time and time again, and furthermore proven how out of touch with reality they are. Malstrom is one of the few who IS in touch with reality, which is probably why so many on message boards hate him, because they buy the propaganda spewed out by the games industry and media.Where is all this credit he gets that you refer to? As I said, he makes NO profits from his website. He is minding his own business on his own blog.

He is not just an above average writer fanboy. He has worked in politics, business, games, and understands  well the nature of all of them.

But anyway, much of what he says rings very true to me, so if that means he's full of it then I guess I'm full of it too.

Also, I have to laugh at the bold portion of your post because that is the point in which you've proven you do no more than briefly skim his posts. If you're like me and read most of them in their entirity, you'd know that Malstrom does not love all things Nintendo. In fact, he is probably one of the most publicly critical of Nintendo out there. He is an AVID hater of Mario Galaxy, current Zelda games, and Metroid Other M. He strongly dislikes the Nintendo fans' praisal of Myamoto.

You can hate all ya want, but you can never take away the fact that he is litterally the ONLY person in gaming journalism/media who predicted the massive Wii success that it has had.

While I certainly don't agree with all his views 100%, I for one applaud him for pointing out the flaws and self defeating nature of the games industry in its current state, and there absolutely needs to be more outspoken like him.

All hail Wii even though it came off a week where it sold 80K more than the previous year to only drop 335K  from the previous year.  That tells me BF week the Wii sold BF week because of the great deals.  Wii beat the 360 for one reason and that is availability.  Once January hits Wii will really start dropping YoY.

People complaining about the death of HD gaming while COD:BO sells 8.4M in November. Only reason so many casual titles in the top 10 is because Nintendo gave away 1.2 million pieces of software this week.

I also wouldnt be surprised to see further adjustments for this week now that November NPDs have came out and the ratios will model that more.

1.) Oh please, spare us the Wii is doomed stuff please, I think people are really getting sick of it.. I know I am. I mean for crying out loud, what does the Wii have to sell in order to keep all the negative nancies at bay? 100 million? 200 million? Yes, Wii will be down YoY come January 2011, and so will the HD consoles. Also, nobdy here said or implied "all hail Wii!" God forbid someone should say something positive about Nintendo..

2.) Wii beat the 360 because it has more games on it that more people want to play..

Good post, Wii lost marketshare in Americas and WW this week, so not sure why people are saying HD is the one that is doomed! Wii is literally losing 0.1 marketshare weekly now ...

Really. PS3 is only down something like 9000 units and last year they had new model and price cut. It's not that bad. It's just that X360 is doing pretty amazing numbers.
