What is the exact PS2 numbers for the same year as the wii and 360. The wii still looks way ahead while the 360 has consistently risen and is now above it

X360 has been on the market for 61 months.

12 Months to Month 61 (inclusive) for X360: 6.24m by NPD for the USA

12 Months Month 61 (inclusive) for PS2: 5.20m by NPD for the USA

Wii has been on the market for 49 Months.

12 Months to Month 49 (inclusive) for Wii: 8.52m by NPD for the USA

12 Month to Month 49 (inclusive) for PS2: 5.77m by NPD for the USA

Wii vs PS2 in 49 Months: 31.83m (Wii) vs. 24.96m (PS2)

X360 vs PS2 in 61 Months: 23.53m (X360) vs. 30.17m (PS2)

Wii is currently tracking 14 months ahead of PS2 in the USA, and that should increase dramatically in December.

360, 6.5 mill behind, did PS2 start trending down from the 61 month mark? Could 360 possibly overtake it at some point?

It's an interesting question. And i think it depends when the next gen will start. Imo i dont think so cause even after the PS2 decline, it kept on selling consistently. 360 should be over 40 mil  in americas by the end of the gen imo which is amazing having 2 consoles have those stats!

Yeah I agree it all depends on when next gen starts, and the 360's legacy.

I think a $99 360 will sell for many years though, and we're not even at $149 yet!

Question is, would Sony drop it's price and risk moving into red again just to overtake competition, or will they continue to lose ground in the biggest market WW but make profit? Next year should be interesting, at least $50 pricecut imo next year for most if not all consoles.

Disconnect and self destruct, one bullet a time.

Great numbers all around.

360 massive

Wii Great

PS3 not great but not bad either. It's just that the other 2 did awesomely great.

Btw when does the Wii walmart deal start? did it start last week?

I think we may see a $149 360 unit by next spring (more so E3), as M$ probably wants to reach critical mass and selll as many units as possible, before the announcement of the next bov.

So in essence, overall WW up to now in 2010 the PS3 was closing the gap for the Xbox 360. Could this mass surge of 360s and probably for december nullify the gains made over this entire year? IIRC doesnt this sort of thing happen every year? PS3 gains a bit of ground but as holiday comes around they get pushed back a tad?

01. Call of Duty: Black Ops (360) - 5 million
02. Call of Duty: Black Ops (PS3) - 3 million?
03. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (360) - 800k
04. Just Dance 2 (Wii) UBISOFT
05. Fable III (360) MICROSOFT**
06. Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii) NINTENDO - 430.5K
07. Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) SONY** - 400k
08. Wii Fit Plus (Wii)
09. Assassins Creed (PS3) - 340k
10. Halo Reach (360)

Pretty sure this is the top ten individual chart now.

Nope Dance Central is #11 on the all SKU chart, so it sold better than Halo Reach, but worse then Wii Fit Plus, so Assassins Creed (PS3) is not in the top 10. Probably on 11.

EDIT: On the other hand there would be 5 360 games in the top 10 and not 4...

Why thank you

Yes most gains can be wiped out in a mere few months. Going by our figures though it has 900k to overcome, so I think a reasonable expectation is around 400k by end of year to PS3.

However *puts flame suit on*

Sony shipped a lot of bundles in Q3 VS MS, and I think that 1 mill adjustment PS3 had a few weeks ago will diminish. Could end up neck and neck or in 360's favour. Just my opinion though ..

Yeah, and Sony said ACB was in top ten, but I know for a fact Reach is number 10. Not sure where that places DC.
