Forums - General - Anonymous Supports Wikileaks as Assange is Arrested

Well the 4Chan should be arrested. But Wikileaks pretty much murdered dozens to hundreds of people by leaking lists of informants and other individuals.

Those people must have known the risks. Stuff leaks out, it just happens. This just happened to be a big leak. I don't think the risk has grown much at all for completely 'innocent' people, instead it's those who work in secrecy. The thing is, the authorities often feed us lies, and I want to know the truth even at the expense of some of my safety.

Also, may I point out the dumbness of someone saying "We think these websites are being pressured by the goverment... so we are going to respond by also pressuring them!  Rather then attack the people pressuring them and putting them in a bad position."

I mean, if Anonymous REALLY cared they'd be trying to hack the US government to get ahold of more leaks.

They aren't though because they know unlike DDOS attacks... if they tried to hack the government they may actually get in trouble.

I agree, but at the same time... wikileaks isn't JUST posting the truth, they're also posting a bunch of irrelevent stuff that has no value outside of cheap tabloid shock like "This hardworking diplomat who's done nothing wrong thinks David Cameron will be a bad PM."

It's like releasing an leaked paper about BP's corruption... along with every single member of BP's personal emails.

It's great BP's corruption was leaked, but knowing that Katie things Orlando Bloom is "Super Ultra hot"... what's the point?

It's not like they don't have the manpower, they claim to be holding stuff that is "too damaging" so they've either went through this all and know what is a big deal and what isn't... or are just lying to make the leaked cables sound worse then they are due to the "unknown" stuff.

Wow.  You really don't want to get on the wrong side of the US government.

Shame on those government officials who are being so afraid of the people knowing all about it's dirty, subversive wars across the globe and trying to take the people's right to know away.

Long live, Wikileaks!

Do you even read what you write before you post it? He was giving away US secrets!! Do you seriously think that's okay? Would you be happy if all of your country's secrets got out? How anyone can defend him is beyond me. I hope he gets killed, or at least put in a dark room for 40 years.

But other peple in other governments cant even fart without CIA knowing so, right? Where the fuck do they have the right to do anything  without the permission of US? Because the world is USA's playground right?

It baffles me how people don't consider WikiLeaks a terrorist organisation. Cyber Terrorism is still terrorism and attacking web providers and banks because WikiLeaks broke their codes of conduct. Its insaine PayPal and the various groups have every right to deny Wikileaks service. Its in the user agreements. If you violate company policies and if they deem your service to violate their policies then they have every right to drop your service.

Its freedom of expression. Wikileaks is attacking people because they are expressing their dissaproval. This is horrible I hope that our countries unify and arrest each and every terrorist where they stand. Wikileaks is right this is turning into a war, an insurgency in which terrorists are trying to topple our governments and any organisation that decides they are against Wikileaks.

The only difference between Al-Qaida and Wikileaks is Wikileaks is blowing up virtual buildings while Al-Qaida blows up physical buildings. Instead of killing people directly Wikileaks releases information to have people killed indirectly (like leaking Afghan informants and other innocent people knowing full well they could be killed).

Wikileaks terrorists should be hunted down every where they are and charged with cyber terrorism. Each of them deserve to be put behind bars for at least ten years. These attacks should not go un-punished!

Actualy it's not Wikileaks that's attacking people because of their disaproval.  It's 4chan.  Completley different group.

Well the 4Chan should be arrested. But Wikileaks pretty much murdered dozens to hundreds of people by leaking lists of informants and other individuals. I'd call that a terrorist attack and damaging countries political infastructure is also terrorist. I see no difference in what Wikileaks is doing and what the Tamil Tigers were doing or even Palestinian freedome fighters. They claim its a war over freedom's and injustice yet everyone they hurt for the most part are innocent civilians which they are controlling or trying to control with fear.

I hope Assange and every single man at Wikileaks or 4Chan or any other organisation carrying out cyber terror attacks is arrested and thrown in jail.

No they didn't. They exposed the truth, and like it or not the truth is the truth. They pretty much are warning people about how the USA deals with things, which during the last century, ended with millions of innocent civilian lives. Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, you call it. The USA is always at war and they always need a common enemy and keep their citizens and citizens abroad under a constant state of alert to remain the top World Power.

Governments from different countries including USA, Sweden, UK, etc. are trying to make Assange look like a criminal and a terrorist, even comparing him to Al-Qaeda (WTF, even Al-Qaeda was supported by the USA during the Cold War when the enemy was the "Communist"). But what I can tell you is that with the speed at which information travels nowadays with most people able to access internet and surpass censorship, this will eventually play against USA and their allies in this matter. I really hope he keeps on leaking everything in his power. If the USA feels threatened by the leaks, that might be because those documents could expose and prove right some "consipracy theories".

BTW if he commited rape, then he should be charged for it, but censoring him, putting pressure into companies to end services with Wikileaks, attacking Wikileaks with DDoS attacks and accusing him of being a terrorist are simply a political move with ulterior reasons.

I'm so glad this guy is going to jail and hopefully stays there.

I was thinking that if this guy didn't stop he would be the cause for World War 3.

Excuse my ignorance, but I don't even know where to start with this wikileaks chaos ... could someone sum it up for my briefly?

America did a lot of evil shit and covered it up, then started complaining when somebody posted all of their evil shit.

They then realised that posting the evil shit was perfectly legal

They then may or may not have tried to frame Julian Assange (the founder) by saying he "raped" two Swedish ladies.

Though now that I think of it, the leaks have improved my opinion of the intelligence of politicians everywhere, just not their morality.

Anyone saying that these leaks will damage informants clearly hasn't even glanced at the site.

All informant names are censored. All company names are censored. Indeed, all names except country names and the names of high-ranking government officials are censored.

None of this is going to do any harm to civilians everywhere. None of this will help terrorists in any way. Go look at the leaks. All they do is expose the American government, and a number of others, as a group of spineless cowards who will ignore basic common sense and human decency to avoid annoying autocratic leaders of oppressive regimes.

Cause clearly Nicholas Sarkozy doesn't know who the ambassador is that called him an emperor with no clothes?

Also, as mentioned before, the rape thing happened before cablegate... and nobody in the US cared that much about the Afghan war diaries.

I highly doubt that it was the ambassador who said it. It was one of any number of people in the US foreign service who work in France.
