Japan            39,752            68,599              4,206

Everything else          109,754          115,347            45,128

Last year week after Black Friday weekend

2009 Week 48
Console Wii PS3 X360
America          925,242          218,175          236,821
Japan          104,193            54,430              4,855
Known Europe + Australia          405,569          230,001          162,474
Everything else          132,336            99,043            47,919

According to the Japan preview we already expect the Wii to drop YoY 45,000 to 60,000 for the week and Wii was down 15% YoY in EMEAA BF week.  Wii almost got back to 2009 levels with the great BF week sales in NA.  Wii had some great deals available BF week, far better than last year where Wii relied on NSMBWii launch and October price cut.

PS3 is expected to drop YoY 10,000 to 20,000 in Japan according to the preview and beause of GT5 launch week last week the results should fall back closer to 2009 levels this week. in NA PS3 shouldnt drop as hard as it did last year week after BF week even thought GT5 launched last week.  BF deals in 2009 for PS3 were better so the drop should be less dramatic where PS3 fell from 486K to 218K.

X360 is expected to stay at about the same small numbers in Japan. EMEAA and NA BF week werent effected by any big launch titles and Kinect continued to sell every unit that became available. There were some good BF deals for non-Kinect 360s so it will be interesting to see how much that effects 360 sales.

So I predict the following:

  Wii PS3 X360
NA 700,000 259,000 500,000
Japan 52,500 40,000 4,000
Everwhere else 450,000 290,000 255,000

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

You are way to high in NA for every console and too low in Everywhere else for PS3.

You really think PS3 with do more than 260,000 in NA? 200,000 is much more likely and even that could be a tad high.

Yep, I see 360 and PS3 doing bigger than last year post BF week because of Kinect/Slim & GT5/Move. I don't think the drop offs will be steep enough to bring them below last year's numbers, especially by that much.

I could be overestimating, but we'll see.

Well last year PS3 had all the hype compared to 360 because of the just released slim. This year 360 has the headlines with Kinect. 360 will be up from last year and PS3 will be down from last year. I predict a statistical tie for December with PS3 taking it in raw numbers shown by VGChartz.

Why are people seaying 700K is too high?  And why are you saying it will drop 150K this week CGI? I don't understand this at all. The prediction and everything else. Guess I'm getting old.

Above: still the best game of the year.

why would sales go up the week after black friday?

I'm thinking:

North America - Wii: 500,000 Xbox 360: 400,000, PS3: 285,000

Japan - Wii: 50,000 PS3: 40,000 Xbox 360: 4,500

Everywhere else (EMEAA) - Wii: 420,000 PS3: 375,000 Xbox 360: 295,000

Total: Wii: 970,000 PS3: 700,000 Xbox 360: 699,500

Yes, I do think PS3 and 360 will be virtually tied because of the bigger drop off for 360 from Black Friday NA sales and GT5's continued lift/holiday EMEAA boost for PS3.

If trends are followed I believe 700K for wii is reasonable.  BF for wii was good but a little less than last year.  The week following bf last year 900K so the trend would be slightly less this year.

I think closer to 800K is possible

The same reason as last year, :P? They went up to 900k on a lower BF week in Americas alone. I doubt it can replicate that due to better deals last year after BF and worse ones on BF, but surely going up can't be too hard. Anyway, Japan's definitely gonna be up and EMEAA you guys seem to be underestimating considering that the Wii now has 4 bundles to choose from and one of them is a huge, well known fitness game.

Sales won't go up post Black Friday. The next time we will see an increase is the weeks/days before Christmas. Until then, things will drop a bit.

The trend for wii is rising sales post BF not less

Look at last years sales
