My PS3 is collecting to much dust!

Everything in my apartment seems to collect a lot of dust.

My workstation PC collects the most between the twin intake fans, push/pull CPU fans, etc. It's a regular vacuum cleaner. I had to install dust filters.

The only thing that gathers more dust is my vacuum cleaner. It does not play any games though.

The PS3s suck in a fair amount of dust, particularly the one that's on every day.

The 360 doesn't show dust (original matte white), which is not to say that it's not there.

Incidentally, the Wii gathers the least dust. Small profile, low heat/tiny fans and most importantly; it's never turned on.

My PS3 stands still for 10 Months now, my last Game i bought was Heavy Rain. PS3 gets hardly good exklusiv Games. Thre are no Games for PS3 especially this year.

yeah, my PS3 is a dust magnet, clean it about every two days...still play the hell out of it!!!

you should vacuum it or give it a blow job

if its a phat then you dont have a warranty on it so you can open it up and do a better job with the cleaning and even change the thermal paste on it

there are plenty of vids showing you how to do it or you can send it out some companies like gophermods or capital circuits ect. they clean them and reapply arctic silver 5 thermal paste for like $40

i have a 60gb that i bought in june 07 it ylod on me this march i had it reballed with lead solder and i have it stored in its original box i went out and bought a slim to game heavily on

the point is when my ps3 broke i did alot of research on it and found out that 20 60 and 40gb ps3s were more prone to ylod b/c they run hotter resulting in much inconstant thermal cycles which causes the weak lead free solder to crack giving you the ylod

so having it cleaned and replacing the thermal paste can help reduce the risk of ylod

 

dont know why ur friend would tell u to pirate games when mentioning a dirty ps3 or your poll

lol i had to add something funny to the thread,i know how they feel but ever since i came back after my last ban i seem to joke about everything now lol

it seems to be keeping me out of trouble as well so it's all good, anyway hope you find a solution if not like other ppl said a good hoover always did the trick what i had a fat ps3, but as soon as i could because it kept on freezing and shutting down on me i traded it in, because i was too scared it would YLOD on me, so i know how you feel
