i have to laugh if i read something like: "60% of xbl subscribers pay for xbl because of cod..."  haha yeah sure without cod, xbl would have just 5-6 million instead of 13 million gold members... and nobody pays to play halo, fifa or whatever, right mr. kotick?

See, MS loves even Activision. That is how friendly and lovable MS is!

What kind of post is this?

Well it can't denied that CoD has played a big role in Live's success. If anyone should get a piece of Live profits, its gotta be Activision.

On top of that, doesn't Microsoft get a small piece of every 3rd party game sold? MS is just giving some money back I guess.

I wonder how people that don't play Call of Duty feel.  They're paying to subsidize a franchise they don't play.

Well if they are paying full price they should feel like chumps. Even a tiny bit of looking can get you a discount. Heck, simply logging into Live with a silver account will get you a discount.

"33% off Live" "1600 Free microsoft points with upgrade" "Free Chinese orphan with upgrade today!" " Family Pack!"

You don't even know how much they get.

Lets go crazy and speculate! Say MS gives Activision $0.25 from every account and lets assume there are 10 million Gold accounts. That's millions of dollars for Activision just for their support.

Now what does Activision get for having the most popular game on PS3 and PSN? Hmmmm...

Somewhere around $30 per game sold on PS3?
