This is gonna make darth flip shit, but I've never really liked star wars as much as most people.

They're great movies, I even liked the prequels. I just never thought they were as good as people make them out to be.

I am a flaming Harry Potter fanboy though. I can recognize the movies have some problems, but I just like them more.

So Potter for me obviously.

It's tough to pick. I'd say Star Wars 4, 5, and 6 are better than Harry Potter 1, 2, and 3.

But then Star Wars got worse and worse with 3 absolutely pathetic prequels, with bad characters, bad dialogue, bad writing, bad pacing, huge gaping plot-destroying plot holes that make the entire films meaningless, horrible attemps at forced romance, and all sorts of stupid shit.

And Harry Potter keeps getting better and better. I'm about halfway through movie 4 at the moment.

If there were no Star Wars prequels, I'd go with Star Wars. But... now I'm leaning towards Harry Potter.

As far as the movie series, I gotta go with Star Wars. Yeah, the prequels are... er... oookay, but the original trilogy is just a classic. The Harry Potter movies are great though (well, 1 & 2 havent' stood the test of time in my opinion... relying on three 11 year olds as the main actors in a film is risky business.), and getting better and better. Can't wait for Deathly Hallows Part 2!

As far as the book series goes, Harry Potter all the way.

But yeah... Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, and Harry Potter are probably my favorite fictional universes ever... so I've got love for 'em all.
