Forums - PC - Do you use HDMI or VGA on your PC?

Same as title, which one is better in your opinion on a 1080P HD tv.

VGA, because I can't be bothered to buy new cables. I wish monitors and consoles would bundle better cables by default, Nintendo still gives you the red/yellow/white things that suck.

HDMI is clearly better, no contest. Though I prefer DisplayPort because of the lack of royalties.

I have both on my laptop, HDMI of course is better.

You might have to change the settings on your TV, there sould be input on the options and set the HDMI to the TV resoultion. Try 720p and keep going up on it, what do you need the HDMI for?

nothing really, just wanted to try the HDMI output on my new desktop, also wanted to keep all systems and consoles hooked to one tv instead of it being hooked on a small monitor.

i mostly use a desktop for games.

Well for the PS3 you can hold the power button down until there's two beeps, and it should automatically ask if you want to use HDMI, then it'll automatically turn 1080p. For the 360 put on the AV cords, go into console settings, then display settings, change the input to HDMI, swap the cables, and list it as 1080p. For the PC, you might need to start in VGA then go to the display settings in Control Panel. Try to swap to HDMI if theres an option them plug it in, or just start up with HDMI and change the resolution from there.
