Forums - PC - Hidden gem: PC RPG Recettear: An Item Shop's Tale

I got this game in one of the indie bundles during Valve's black friday sales. I have been enjoying the game quite a bit. I would be willing to pay full price for this game honestly.

Basically as the name suggests, you run an item shop. In order to pay off the debts of your father who ran off to be a hero, and probably died.

Check it out and buy it!

Time for hype

Hidden?  bah, wrote a review for it myself.  Tons of fun, hopefully I get more releases like that from Steam because that was a pleasent surprise.

doesnt matter if you reviewed it, its an indie title, they dont get much media or press so they tend to stay hidden until discussed like in this thread. its like blueberry garden, I reviewed that, how many people here have heard of it even though I praised the heck out of it.

picked it up during the sale as well been playing it and damn the game is surprisingly fun and new features are constantly being unlocked, the game looks like it has some serious depth, and the writing is surprisingly good and genuinely funny in places. The specs are quite low so people shouldn't have any trouble playing it, I recommend buying it as soon as possible.

Well Recettear is also on Kotaku Christmas gifts for pc gamer list so it's not like it didn't get famous rather fast.

Well the game was released in September. Have you heard of it till this thread or Kotaku's Christmas list? Really I saw an article on Kotaku calling it a hidden gem posted when it was released. I only discovered the article before posting this thread.

The more media, the better for these types of games. Still there isn't enough. Articles like Kotaku's is a great step for indie game purchases when there are sales like Steam's, but when the game is released, other than a random review from smaller publications like this site no one really will see or know about the game.

Only heard about this game when it was on sale on steam. I played through the (lengthy) demo yesterday and really enjoyed it.

I'll pick it up when it goes on sale again.
