Forums - Sales - MOVE and KINECT Sell-Through update!

As I mentioned as a response to the original news thread:

"... Of course it's rather simple to obtain Kinect sales. But with this site, Move sold through to customers and calculating the number of Move compatible PS3s are an estimate which should be considered with discernment. But I personally feel that Pachter is very dis-credible. So if his numbers fall in line with VGChartz's, it seriously lead me to believe that this site's numbers in regards to Move are very inaccurate. Just an observation. And I do have an opinion in regards to Kinect not moving a lot of Xbox 360 hardware so far. Unfortunately, it would probably lead to an unintended flame war."

Estimate of the install base yes... but the number of actual MOVE sales is estimated in the same way that Kinect is, and any hardware or software is...

Now clearly some people will have bought more than one move...

It doesnt alter the fact that Kinect is romping it.

Not when we truely do not know how well the Move is doing.

I expect move to be a little higher. 2 million would be perfect instead of 1.6 million IMO, but I don't have any data to back this up.

It is obvious that Kinect is outselling Move though. Every retailer on the internet agrees with me. I can't wait for NPD this month.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

We dont know how well anything is truly doing... its all estimates based on all available data.

Why dont sony tell us what they estimate the sell through is?  Nintendo have in the past, MS have here... maybe they like the shipped number better? Their silence may speak volumes.

I think it's fair to say that even though a PSEye is required to utilize Move, not all PSEye users bought it for Move.  This is an exceptional case where even SONY doesn't accurate know the unique household users of Move.  And you have to admit that any number they estimate will be taken in either direction depending which "camp" is using those numbers.

So it looks like Kinect is outselling Move at around 4/3:1 at the current pace if we take into consideration 11 weeks vs 4 weeks.

I'm talking about estimated userbase.

which is why an independent story like this is the best source we have...

Best = I agree.  I think it's a pretty cool site.  But it doesn't mean it's always accurate.  And I'm not trying to argue with you.  At best, we can agree to disagree.  Peace, man.  :)

I bet Move has sold a bit more than that.

I assume that the 875,000 figure was through 11/27 (Saturday).

Add the 1.5M that VGC already had through 11/20.  That is 2.375M.

MS said over 2.5M so that would mean about 125K additional sold last Sunday (11/28).

Its libraries that sell systems not a single game.

Kinect win is because of 360 huge US market, thats why it selling so much..

as for Move, its sales were balance in every region..

i say it is not important to see which is selling better at the moment, which have stronger legs is more important..

Wii is a very good example..

VGC adjusted Kinect Adventures to 1.6m now
