this feature has been lo g overdue to the point where some people might think it doesn't matter anymore or it will never come. Do you guys think sony is still working on this feature or do you think they will not have this feature until next gen?
Why do people want it so much? i mean whoever owns a PS3 doesn't have a social life
Maybe it just can't do it?
I mean its 4 years in. Perhaps its time Sony just admit the PS3 wasn't designed to do something so incredibly complex.

I kind of find it annoying that if I am playing SP and my other friend is playing SP we cant chat? I mean when I had a 360 that was awesome or we would both play a SP player level and have competitions and stuff like that. It gives Co-op to games that do not have it or at least for me it did.

Dude.. you have a PC so are very well able to use crossgamechat with... lets say TS3...
When Playstation4 releases or Firmware duty gets moved to SCEA/E...

I only talk to friends when on PSN. If I wanted Cross-Game chat to friends (we usually play the same game), I'd put my cellphone on speakerphone :D

On the Xbox 360, people can voice chat (even voice parties) regardless of the games they are playing.
I'm not very tech savvy, but my guess is the 360 dashboard has more dedicated resources. Thus you can do more stuff without having an impact on the games. Such as download, listen to music, etc.
