they are right now inventing an even better Voice chat system

When was this? I've been hearing people ask for it recently. If it failed, they should stop asking.

Back in 2009 I believe. You can find articles if you Google it. Basically Sony attempted to do it, but it caused problems with some games. Developers got angry and Sony didn't add the features.
Sony hasn't exactly put the kibosh on it and rumors keep bouncing around.
Maybe they will add the feature at some point. But clearly its not as simple as one would think.

i dont really care for cross game chat coming to PSN, i dont even use it on xbox live... dont really see the big deal of not having it
