This is fantastic! My birthday is the twentieth so now I should be able to get this and KZ3 for free. Killzone for the gore, Tactics Ogre for something more cerebral. Good deal.
Time for hype

Yeah its a bit like that. only it wont be cel shaded and it will be in a top down, 3Dish view. its actully over 10 years old, this is a remake, with loads of dialogue and new material worked into it.
and the reason i'm telling you that, is because that Famitsu list of the best games ever you made a thread about a few months ago, well Tactics Ogre was featured on that at number 17 i think. so this is a game over 10 years old that is still remembered, which might speak for itself. only this version will be much improved.
i'm not sure if its for everyone though, Valkyria Chronicles might be a bit better, because it was in full 3D, so i dont know if you'll like it. but i would say give it a try, its a PSP game, it wont take long to hit the bargin bin, you might like it.

After reading the OP more thoroughly I think I'll buy it.
The "choices" sounds like a really cool and unique mechanic

Well ign recently compared it to Mass Effect, and i dont think it will be that complex. but i havent played it either so i cant really say.
but i'm quite interested in the 'choices' as well. i just hope the battles are forgiving.
Looking forward to this game! Now I just have to hope I get a PSP for Christmas.

@ Darth also.
NO!! Have you played tactic ogre? Those two games are very very different. I mean the gameplay is very different.Tactics ogre plays like your normal JRPG with menus and stuff ( attack magic and etc.) but Valkyria plays different than your normal norm. It kinda plays like a TPS but with a twist. It's also half real time and half turnbased. The only similarities I can find are: they are both SRPG and both are great games.
You know what. I think I already have this discussion with you before.

So it's more like Disgaea?

Yes, considering Tactics Ogre is the grandfather to all isometric S-RPGs.
well the best description I could think of is it's like Final Fantasy Tactics (for obv reasons). Only better, deeper, and without Final Fantasy References. All a good thing and all in my opinion of course..
It's like Valkyria Chronicles in that it's a turn based strategy RPG. so it has some similarites. Because they're both SRPG's. But they're not really similar if we're comparing turn based SRPG's.
