because people want new experiences, ofcourse games from 2 gens away could be remade but still maybe a franchise lost its appeal.

Didn't SEGA just release a re-make of Crazy Taxi? Essentially it was just Crazy Taxi in HD resolution without any in-game assets changed.

I think it got horrible reviews and probably won't sell more than 50K.
