I was wondering whether or not we could gift people retail video games? I think that would be awesome as well.

It's an idea, but it'd bump up the price significantly, and the logistics would be a nightmare.  I think the digital route is the better way to go for now.

It would also require people to give out real addresses, which is not a good idea.

I think it's possible to gift something without their address. Isn't there like a direct way to gift someone a digital gift card like in Amazon? Or perhaps https://www.amazon.com/gp/gc/order-email?ie=UTF8&ref_=gc_lp_ln1 <---something like that? I will be more willing to do that then to just buy Wii card points. That way they can buy whatever Wii game they want.

Asking for specific  game beats the purpose of this idea, IMO.

I don't want to speak for Noname, but for me, everyone just getting together and exchanging gift cards sort of defeats the point of Secret Santa.

Well Santa is suppose to give us things we want =)....he is just secret in who he is.

I want to join but I don't want a game. Is that possible?

More specific: I'd like to gift someone a Wiiware or VC game, but I don't need or want a game in return as I usually buy all games I want already soon after release.

BTW: Does this really only work within your country? I always thought it worked within a region.

I wasn't sure if I should join, since I keep meaning to send in my Wii for repair, but if I haven't gotten around to it yet, I obviously won't before the new year.

Lucky for me, my Wii still serves just fine as a WiiWare/VC box, so I can still join the fun.

Nationality: Canuckistani

Controllers: Yes to all

What if I'm the only person from my country who participates?

Because Nintendo hates holiday cheer, we can only gift games to someone in our own country. Consequently, if you're not feeling up to changing the settings on your Wii, I'll send you a regretful PM telling you that your country-men are a bunch of Scrooges.

I thought it was divided by region?

I'm in.

Country: The frozen wastelands of the Dominion of Canada.

Controllers: WiiMote/Nunchuk, Motion Plus, Classic Controller

Wii #: 3127-6962-6450-6978

Veder Juda is hand crafted from EPIC FAIL, and is a 96% certified Looney; the other 4% is a work in progress.

We might be able to accomodate, since DarkCronos may not get his Wii back before the deadline.  But I think it's easier overall if you just join: your Santa may surprise you with something you like but hadn't heard of, and someone else also gets to have the fun of gifting (cliche as it is, it really is more fun to give than to receive, after all).

Interested?

It is, I simply neglected to update the FAQ.  "Country" should read "region."  Although technically the FAQ is correct: you can only give and receive to someone in your country.  However, you can change your country settings to nearly any country in your region, so...
