Well new software has more advertising and word of mouth going for it rather then old software. I mean Microsoft has had alot of success with bundles like the MW2 bundle etc...etc... It definatly shifts units that may not have otherwise shipped.
A perfect example would be if Nintendo contacted UbiSoft and said hey we want to make an MJ bundle. With the new Michael Jackson game. The console will be whipe with fake rubbies and silver. The thing would sell like 2-million units easy. If Nintendo bundled new software with new special edition Wii's like they do for Mario and Pokemon in some cases.
Not to mention people may look at the Wii in the store and see it comes bundled with WiiSports, then they look at a 360 bundled with Black Ops. In a split second they choose Black Ops over WiiSports. Nintendo could shift more units by riding popular games.

This. And it applies to every good game for every console, but it looks like Nintendo can use them better than competitors. Obviously, usually new games sell HW better because they get more marketing, but currently Nintendo is nicely supporting both SW and HW sales heavily advertising its old classics and including them in special HW bundles that cater for many different tastes.
| Joelcool7 said: Man Nintendo is getting desperate to push out those Wii's. All these bundles will hopefully raise holiday sales above PS3 and rival Kinect. But I notice something critical, Nintendo is bundling these consoles with old software. I remember back in SNES and N64 days Nintendo would bundle the hardware with new software.

Nintendo will have had a bunch of bundles once this releases, like 10 or so. Many of them have come with new games. Your post seems random and perhaps ridiculous.

Which Wii bundles have come with new software? I know of only two, the origional Wii bundle with WiiSports and the second one with WiiSportsResort. Here in Canada those are the only two I've seen until these new ones. Thats hardly twelve and to be honest which other ones came with new software?

Isn't it time they released a bundle of bundles?
OT: Finally! A black Wii! Fits perfectly with a PS3 and 360 Slim.

what about Monster Hunter 3 and Tales of Graces, I'm pretty sure their bundles were released on the same day as the games themselves.
