One more thing:

This piece of crap was capable of online gaming everywhere with a 3G connection.

And your point is?

Because this piece of crap already had 3D screen:

But that was 15 years ago and you don't have to shove 3DS on your face when you can just freely look at it with no awkward moments.

And the N Gage came out 7 years ago, wasn't manufactured by Sony, and had a HORRIBLE layout.  So really, neither is a valid point.

@ OP

I've been wanting a smartphone, but have waited since hearing the rumors of the PSP Phone.  If either that or PSP2 with smart phone functionality comes out next year, it's going to be a must buy for me.

The PSP got trounched because its more or less a portable ps2 and now you guys want a portable ps3 brilliant.

Won't 3DS support 3G as well?

Pop Quiz! Without googling, do you know what 3G stands for?

i dont believe it does but has Wifi support.

And my guess is that 3G stands for third generation, third generation of telecommunication signalling

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

Problem with a 3G PSP2 will be that Sony users will have to pay a subscription to the 3G service... Will be hard for some as they LOLed at the fees to access to the Xbox Live.

But we must first concentrate ourselves on the way to entertain people, for video games to live. Else, it's a world where sales representative will win, which has as effect to kill creativity. I want to say to the creators all around the world:"Courage, Dare!". Shigeru Miyamoto.

And those fees wouldn't be completely in Sony's hands to decide the ammount to pay.

It would depend on each individual service of choice for 3G connection...

oh ouch, burn.

OT - I think the mobile market place is drastically different then it was even 5 years ago.  the rise of the smartphone is killing the market for dedicated devices everywhere from GPS to music players to e-readers.   i personlly don't see the game market going any different and that is going to be the weak point of the 3DS imo.  sony would be smart to make the psp2 a phone, there isn't going to be as big of a dedicated mobile gaming market in the future and nintendo will probably claim all of that market.

almost! i would say, they should make that feature optional.

keeping the cost down on a basic handheld device, but if you want to you can upgrade to smartphone and online gaming.

if you are talking a itouch vs. iphone method of release...yeah, i can agree with that.

something like that, but i would make it the same device, upgradeable per expansion port.

if you want smartphone features and android you buy the cartridge, and you are ready to go

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”
